will Simba be able to run scar scripts without problems once development has finished?
also you said that you can use other languages, does that mean like C++ and use the full OOP?

just a couple to start it off :)

No, Simba will not be compatible with SCAR. If someone takes the time to implement a compatibility mode, then it may.
When I said other languages, I meant that, if given the time and experience, one can use the (yet to come) libmml to macro with other languages by loading that library.

Will Simba allow more than one main loop to be ran? As of now it only allows one.

Question: Is there anything specific you guys want us to test?

noidea

2010-01-16 19:41:06

in the text box (Where you type your script, I kind of worded it badly), will you be able to make your own class? if not, is it possible to add this? for example:

class test;
var
a: integer;
procedure print_a();
begin
writeln(a);
end;
end;//ends the class?

class Main;
var
hello: test
//main loop
begin
hello.a = 5;
hello.print_a();
end;
end;//ends the class?
?

I think I got an answer to this already, but i cant seem to remember >.<

No, we use the same script engine as scar and this doesn't support Classes 'creation'.

Not really; but I would prefer that someone actually tries to *use* Simba as alternative to scar.. So I would like to see someone write an actual script in Simba :p

Can the current SRL be easily compiled in Simba? I know there will be a bit of altering here and there, but if SRL can be used then I would think autoing could begin to be tested.

Gu3st...

2010-01-17 18:01:18

Well.. SRL aren't working with SIMBA is it? Mouse.. DeclarePlayers aren't working… almost any RuneScape related functions and so on
I see TPA, DTM, BMP functions though.. They can be used, but there is not LoginPlayer; Logout; LoggedIn…

SRL should be quite easy to get to work in Simba.. I will try to make it compatible tomorrow.. If I even have write acces to the SRL-SVN.

The problem with using SRL functions is that it will use untested Simba functions; which may lead to a non-working SRL.

And the fact that some core functions still need a full implementation. :)

Zytex, I was referring to simple scripts. A simple powerminer, or perhaps a flash game macro. neopets has plenty.

Yeah, did this morning.. I'll upload the latest executable to the FTP.
Also added "ToStr" which basically converts any data type to a string.

what do you mean about that?
And is it possible to write in .NET or JavaScript?

Kyle Undefined

2010-01-19 17:55:05

Javascript isn't a programming language, it's a scripting language. And it only renders HTML, making it not possible to use in Simba. .NET is the frame work, I'm sure you mean either VB, C#, C, C++ since all of those can be used with the .NET frame work.

Very simple, you would be able to load the DLL and call the functions in it.

from ctypes import *

# Load library
MML = CDLL('mml.so')

# Do stuff
MML.SetDesktop()
MML.MoveMouse(10, 10)

# Free library
del MML

You can link your programs directly to the MML, so yeah. Plugins can be given access to the TClient object, and that contains all the functions you'll ever need.

This might sound really dumb. But when is like the SRL includes going to be added? Like mouse and stuff cause I'd like to get started scripting :) but not use ClickMouse. Am I just missing something?

We are trying to decide on a Structure for SRL5, those will be added quickly once thats done.

You could port SRL4.

didn't know where to post, so I'll just put it here. I tried downloading simba or mufasa or whatever you guys wanna call it a few times, but it keeps getting deleted by Norton, it's pretty frustrating, I tried turning a setting off but it's still happening (even if it didn't, it would get deleted once the settings turned back on).

What should I do? Just delete Norton and get a different anti-virus program?

Wizzup?

2010-01-30 12:16:19

Wow, what? It shouldn't be detected as a virus.
Do you think you can paste some sort of virus report?

mastaraymond

2010-01-30 12:56:17

Damn! What would trigger that!? :-(

Seems like it'd only be Norton then. Are you sure it's not something else? SCAR gets detected as a virus by a few programs, but we don't use a packer on Simba so it shouldn't be.

mastaraymond

2010-01-30 13:24:25

I know that certain web-functions can trigger an anti-virus scanner..

Baked0420

2010-01-31 08:29:16

sure, I'll redownload it and take a printscreen of what Norton says then edit it into this post.

EDIT: This is all it really tells me:

Boreas

What does it say when you click More by Activity? It could come up with other AV products, as it's not about being in a definition database, but rather a heuristics issue.

Widget

2010-01-31 16:07:51

Will it go away once more than 10 or whatever people start using it then?

Baked0420

2010-02-01 20:40:53

Widget, I don't run Norton, so I can't give a 100% confident answer, but with the SCAR pre-release I can say that it says a number larger than 10, so I would say no, even if there are more than 10 people, I still think that it would catch it as unsafe, since how many people using a program doesn't determine whether or not it can have something "unsafe" in it.

But I will redownload it again and see what it says next to more, since I don't remember, I don't know if there'll be anything useful in there but for some reason I don't think there's much in there, I thought I checked.

I'll still edit this though with what it says when you click more next to activity.

EDIT: I did look at it, it was what I thought it had said, wasn't positive if it was going to be, but it only says:

"File: (insert file path of simba.exe)
Removed"

and there's a tab that says show then in the drop down menu it says File actions and only that with a checkmark. Doesn't tell you much other than that simba.exe has been removed :/

Norton sucks balls. Wish I could help more, if I can just tell me how.

Not a problem specific to Simba it seems, but seems more likely to happen because of Download Insight. The main reason for the risk is that not too many people are using Simba for now. Just submit the sample to Norton and hope they'll fix it..
