Hey guys,

In the FTP you will find the latest binaries for Linux x86 and Windows x86 (Revision 363)… They contain an updater. It will check once for an update if you start Simba. (After 10 seconds a button will show up if there in an update)

Linux x86 Pascal Script is still not fully functional.
Windows x86 Pascal Script is functional to my knowledge.

So if you previously didn't really follow the development process because there was no updater, now you can… Provided the updater works. ;)

EDIT:
Oh, and if you really don't want to use the FTP, you can download them from here: (please don't spread just yet)
http://old.villavu.com/merlijn/Simba
http://old.villavu.com/merlijn/Simba.exe
This is where the updater currently fetches the updates from too. I'll move them to a faster server soon.
I'd prefer it if you would use the FTP, so we can test the updater.

EDIT2:
Woo, updated to 364. Now download 363 from the FTP and see if the update works! :)

I can compile for AMD64 Windows and Linux if you want :)
@mixster: Go to sleep!
EDIT: I think they work too, don't they?

Indeed, Pascal Script won't work. At least not on Linux amd64. I've never had the chance to test windows amd64.

You go to sleep, I did!
I hope you're happy now - you made me post an off topic reply.

Raymond made it run in a separate thread, seems to work. However, while my server was down I did notice it didn't handle that too well… So that may need some fixing. Anyone?

Cool! You should write a wraper that is just a blank file, except for the update code. Will lessen the strain on your server, and you also won't need to distro old versions for auto-updating. :)

I don't understand what you mean. Can you be more clear?

Just a small file, probably less than 10 KBs, that contains ONLY the updater code.

Why? The updater is IN Simba.

But then they need to download an old version, just to get a new one. A stand-alone updater would save bandwidth, at the same time allowing for new-users to never get an old version.

Why does it tell me that there is an update available even though I go to Extra -> Update and updates?
I reload SIMBA and that stupid cmd window pops up telling me to update :(

I assume you got Simba from the FTP? Using the latest revision?
Because then there shouldn't be an update available.
Are you sure it tells you there is an update? The only way it tells you that you can update is by making an icon visible.

E: It checks for an update 10 seconds after a start, if that's what you mean. It won't actually do anything besides checking.

We still have an out-dated exe file in the dir, lets remove!
Sucesfully deleted the file? True
Current Simba version: 391
Latest Simba Version: 392
formWriteln: A new update of Simba is available!

Just updated twice, still thinks there's another one to update to.

I guess Raymond uploaded an older version. ;)
I updated the Simba.exe.version to 391 for now.

That's probably my fault  compiled it with the 391-version, oops.

You are testing it haha, it shows a lot more information that way.

It separates the script debug from the actual program debug. You can always minimize it.

Yeah, it isn't really priority… We're just trying to make most stuff work now, and then we can get to this. The function list will probably change a bit later, as well.
