tl;dr The site stephenconroy.com.au, an anti-internet censoring site, was forced offline due to a complaint agaisnt it, probably by Stephen Conroy himself (the guy saying filter the internet).

Heres an article where Conroy says he gave up on his plan to put speedhumps every 100m on the freeway "to protect the children", and talks about internet censorship a bit and says "anyone who opposes mandatory internet filtering obviously loves kiddie porn." http://digihub.watoday.com.au/Conroy%20abandons%20speed%20hump%20plans%20for%20Australia%27s%20freeways?page=2

The google cache of the site currently unavailable to the world due to this idiot is here (lol): http://74.125.153.132/search?q=cache:oO5q_Ol7_8oJ:stephenconroy.com.au/+stephenconroy.com.au&hl=en&client=firefox-a&gl=au&strip=1

This guy is a semi-major politician in our country, hes leading the christian political party I think. Hes one of the main guys responsible for the planned censoring of our internet. And he gets support….I'm moving to Europe :sasmokin:

Site it still available (at least outside of Aus) at http://stephen-conroy.com/news.php

I think Villavu should take part in this proposed internet blackout.

reducing accidents by 100 percent

and proceeded to add yet another name to my long list of complete idiots

Following this man's logic, I am lead to believe that a censoring of the internet will reduce child pornography by 100%…

How can that guy be taken seriously at all? I don't think even americans wouldn't classify him as asylum material…

I realise that certain segments of the community were keen on the idea of mandatory speed humps, using them as a tool to control everywhere Australians go and everything they see. Such a plan is not acceptable in a democratic country and would make Australia an international laughing stock.

Best line ever.

Oh nice. In Finland we only have Sweden being a whore and spying our internet trying to find "interesting information" (aka. evil terrorists hurrr) for USA.. Originally they only spied their own country but as most of Finlands and Norways connections go through Sweden they quickly passed a law to expand their rights to keep track of peoples internet behaviour outside their homo-empire. And Finland would be on my top 10 list of the most boring and least spyworthy countries in the world, so I don't really understand wtf they're about, but I guess Sweden is just desperate to please the almighty USA, so it has to try something, and the silly americans probably think Finland is located in the middle-east anyways, so they're interested.. Fools thinking they're the world police.

I don't remember the last time I heard an American politician say the word "Finland".
