Help with uptext

Hey, I could use some help with the uptext problem, because I have little time atm… It would be really helpful if people could provide me with data about the uptext, not so much on how it looks, but the colors.

Basically this is what I need:
A set of color values used in a single character, the color values used in it's shadow and the color values of the background just around the character. All of these separated of course.

It's be useful to get this in several different places, including really hard ones here the background is for example whitish or black. Also for as many different text colors as possible.

I know it's an annoying assignment, but if a few people could do this for 1 or 2 characters, it'd already help a lot, maybe you could possibly post a screenshot of the character alongside the values.

Sorry on my iPhone atm.. Will do tomorrow.. Could u try using find deformed bitmap for each character in uptext?

FindDeformedBitmap is horrible for text recognition, really…

Most important thing is mainly to have some on various backgrounds, which doesn't really matter

so just take printscreens with uptext, then spin the camera so the background on the topleft is different and get a different uptext or the same one?

set of color values color values color values screenshot of the character alongside the values.

As long as the color values aren't exactly the same (which they won't be with a varying background) you should be fine. Most texts have the same relative colors except the fact that there's a white, a blue, and maybe another or two.

Not to be a fail noob… but I assume in the Standard/Low Quality Set screen… with all effects off or to the minimal setting… am I correct?

Assuming the word character is referring to the letters in this case (rather than my Runescape character), is it more helpful to have the color that would be overlapping with the color of the text or the colors surrounding the text? I could be more specific if I was giving you which color was the result of the overlap with a background color, though it would take more effort.

If that wasn't coherent: To my understanding, the color of the text changes as a result of its overlapping with the color behind it. Otherwise, the color would be constant besides the fade that can be seen in the first two examples. Would you rather have several sets that looked something like "Text on Black + Background = Resultant Text Color" or just a list as I was making before while adding an extra category for colors that surround the text?

This would be one of the options,

Padding alone should in theory not have anything to do with SCAR unable to read the text…

And that image dosen't help at all because it's saved as .jpeg…

Yeah, true, JPEG is lossy, can't do much with that…

@Town: I've analyzed some of the colors you gathered, shouldn't be too hard to write an algorithm for that, I was wondering you could get a few characters over a background of a similar colors, like a white char on a white wall or something like that… That'll tell me how sensitive I'll have to make the algorithm
