there is a new runescape update

i dont know what changed except font.

yes IsUpText for example dont work.

Ya I realised it when YoHoJo's PMS stopped working. It hovers pointer over the rocks but doesn't click em cuz of the uptext :/

Edit: Ok I have done some tests… Where it used to write Walk here in the debug box. It writes this now

So I guess they didn't change every text?

This is bad… Very bad.

This might take a long time to fix, and scripts with UpText will now be outdated.

Safest method from now on, until its fixed would be reflection I think.

But reflection isn't working so we are stuck I guess :( Isn't freddy supposed to take care of characters? He is quite active here so he will know soon enough and devs can give him a hand :D

Will anything work? i noticed earlier trying out an autominer. just hovers over the rocks but cant click them. So you just stand there for ages looking stupid. Any idea on how long this will take to get around?

Its an issue because ~all scripts got wrecked.

well, we have to rely on Freddy which is fail in its own right. While there is a dev team of over 20 which could potentially help, we have to put all of our eggs in one basket.

I guess you better hope Freddy can make time with his exams.. -_-

I for one will not be helping with these fonts, as I believe its wrong to have them internal SCAR since they DO change and should be in SRL where they can be easily updated and accessed by many people.

I think freddy will allow SRL to maintain fonts as Wizzup? told him to allow it to be put in SRL in the thread where freddy announced 3.23

They're definitely not. Mod Nexus said they're fixing those issues, so maybe they just haven't done it yet.

Thats not the problem. But then you have to comment all logouts and you will get banned if you are standing there looking like an idiot in case of random or something else goes wrong :p

Not trying to start an argument, but the SRL Public Revisions are kind of obsolete now. Everyone uses the Open-Developers Subversion, which is updated quite often.

SelectWorld(int) no longer working

Maybe get a function to auto detect things that look like words? It might be too complex.

People are encouraged to use the Open Developer revision for SRL. There are updates to it basically every week, and something as big as the font changing would yield another public SRL Revision…

Till fonts are updated I found a temp fix…well sort of…

This is the thing that comes up instead of Mine Rocks…so if you put that in string instead of 'ine' or whatever, it works :D Just tried it…

The upchars (except for possibly special ones) should be all updated now, though it appears the OCR has some trouble handling the new font… I've also uploaded a new pre-release copy of 3.23 that tweaks it a bit more to make less mistakes… Though not perfect, it's better than 3.22… If I forgot a character or something, please, don't hesitate to contact me, I'm only human :)

Err I think the X (close) in graphics screen is broken. Scar can't close the graphics screen. I think the devs are supposed to fix that right?

Runescape releases a massive update, probably to wreck our scripts and Freddy1990 already started solving it.

Now, Freddy, keep the old fonts aswell, I think they might turn back :S.

No need to update what is already working.
In this case, only thing broken in SRL is the randoms.
And now, everything followed by the fonts.
Which we have to little info about AND time to fix.
However, there is a clear difference.

We are open source, anyone can help, and fix stuff being broken when they have time, we are all in the same boat, we are a team. If I don't have time, I pray someone else does.

You, being closed source, and having control over everything and failing to do certain things(sorry to say it, but you know it's true) ofc people will rant at you, no sherlock needed to figure it out. I'm just trying to say, that being a lone wolf will bring hostility. If something break, and we try to help, we get rejected or just pure ignored. Sure you update the fonts quickly, but if we liked to help, why not let us?

I've noticed now more than ever that its harder to bot with scar then ever, I can't keep track of what scar works, what doesn't. Are the randoms working, or they not. Whats broken, what's not. Rsbot works because there isn't two parts that need to be working together, there's the one(Also that they aren't being ignorant and they are using java)

Wow great job, I just came home from school xD, opened scar and saw that we had new uptexts and it started to download :D . I <3 this place, were all family and have our comments. Our members, developers, and Freddy worked together and got this problem over with. We all picked up the problem, and instead of flaming jagex, we actually fought it and dealed with it in less then a day >.> well to me in less then a day lol. Now I can post my new notes on the FindingColorSpirals :D

Anyway, Were all Family, we each have specialties, whether its defending statements, helping others, or even fixing huge crisis problems. We each do our part, I thank all of you, Freddy, Members and Developers. You all did a great job, and I am so grateful for that.

Problem Solved: Yup, Guess all I had to do was do a CheckOut in Scar for updates. Thanks a lot, IsUpText now works.

Im happy to hear that you care about the family that i suggested. The reason people fight in these forums are unclear to me still. Let me try to explain things Set by set on what I feel.

Your correct, N1ke gave his comment, but that comment had hatred towards Freddy. As you know, Alot of people were on this update after it came out, Members, Developers, and Freddy were on it. A lot of people were depending on Freddy to fix the problems that were happening, Freddy got frustrated that some people were actually getting angry. N1ke then stated that Freddy's comment was outragously false and misdirected. N1ke countered with saying that should not have intentionally went on and make new fonts.

What I feel about that: Freddy had a lot of stress giving in to him at one point. N1ke then had the audacity to express hatred towards Freddy's stress. To be honest, I only see that N1ke spreaded Hatred, not the SRL's people that you stated.

Of course we may express feelings to each other, but tell me, how do you settle an argument by pointing fingers. Without spreading anger. You do it by respect and understanding.

Yes, why do you think I made the term family, you either abide by it or not, is what im saying. Do I SEE that srl members have been putting things aside, … thats what we HAVE to do sometimes. Alot of things that we want to write usually direct anger/hatred to another member. When we end up spilling our guts out, thats when things heat up, and its hard to stop the cycle from there. We have to control ourselves, we cant let our emotions get the best of us. Now I see that they cant ignore it anymore? …. thats just there fault, im sorry those who I hit there, but i have to say it, its just there fault.
