Started scripting again!

Why? Because wizz showed my how to auto on another IP and I noticed Jagex changed a couple of thing that should make life a lot easier for us.

But to my astonishment:

SCAR 3.22 bugs!
DIB Handles crashes, instruction 0x000000 at adress 0x000000, etc. Bugs every five minutes and needs to be restarted. Grrrr! Come on! I can fill in my email adress each time, but why should I??? Just send the bloody bug and sort it out. And it pops up with a nifty Succesfully Blah Progam Alert. I hate those Microsoft-Find-Dog-Alerts alikes. Lucky it can be turned off. Also, the hyperlink to SRL-Forums.com is almost one year outdated. Come ON! <- Freddy stuff I know, but still…. Also, SCAR refuses to work with the latest turtoise-svn. Checkout needs to be done manually.

SRL bugs!
Updated to the latest dev_svn. (Loved the WIKI entry on that though, very clear!)

- Every time I run a script it starts checking if the detail is still low etc….and it does that too fast! Before the window pops up, or at popup time, it clicks on the upper right corner, and thus makes my player run off. Arrgh, now that is a beginners mistake :)

- Openbanks do not work anymore, because the Flag behaviour has been changed by Jagex. Player just sits…does nothing. (OpenBankglass crashes on TPA)

- ** Warning in GameTab: Tab 4 is not a valid tab number.** What???

Sooooooo, SCAR buggy…..SRL buggy……

I am sad.

:(

That is probably largely because of the inactivity of developers like myself. I don't have an internet connection for the most part that lets me formally script.

Sorry.. :(

Albeit, I am curious. What are you creating? :D

So if you update GameTab…you should update openbank too. GameTab is now tab_Inv instead of 5. Fair enough, but update the rest too….sigh

EDIT: I was wrong here. Me bad. Notihng to do with SRL….but me :)

I am also curious. I have never had 3.21+ bug for anything that wasnt a problem in my own script, though i very much do not like the fact that certain out of range errors basically just say "hey im an error" 10 times before forcibly restarting SCAR.

My heart will still always be at 3.15b - usually SRL will compile fine with it after a few alterations. As for SVN's, the nice thing about using Linux is the ease of use with SVN's :)

I'm not having any major problems with SCAR/SRL, except for the bank opening which I don't even need atm.

The only bug I find in SCAR 3.22 is that if you drag the cursor to the client twice (1st on startup, then again after picking a color for example) it gives runtime error on many functions, like GetTextAt etc.

Often time for the DIB error, you need to do Client>Reset Specified Window> Drag Crosshairs again, and then it works. (There are like over 9000 different DIB errors, but this is the fix for the one I get most commonly)

Access violation at address 00594CF7 in module 'scar.exe'. Read of address 202F2035.

FindBitMapMaskTolerance….is that one broken? Answer: no, but black isnt black anymore :)
SCAR 3.22 also refuses others into the common copy buffer :)

Good code should never be able to throw DIB errors, as they should always be checked before being passed to an API function. But really, you'd hope the Window Selector would be stable… :)

FindBitmapToleranceIn….is that broken too? Aargh.

Broken how? Not finding or finding in places where the bitmaps really isn't?

I get DIB errors repeatedly running 3.15b on WINE. But I get a lot less than running 3.22.

3.22 fails to load at times..

Rofl ya, its not the code, its the window selector, which is just fail. :D

Look Fawki, there's a reason some of us still use the good ol' 3.15b (2nd edition). I guess the things you pointed out are a few of them.

But, but, that's absurd. I can't seem to use any of the basic functions. Are more things broken?

Does it work for you?

EDIT: Appearently: this works…..
Needle := LoadBitmap('needle.bmp');
with
FindBitMapIn

Hate to double post, but also in something fairly simple as search-replace crawled a nasty bug in SCAR 3.22. Hit Replace after Search Next, and the highlighted phrase is not replaced at all, tsss.
Also try hitting Search next several times when the search is done.

Most of the bugs I've gotten in SCAR with the popup I've been able to just leave the popup just sitting there and continue autoing. If I close it though, SCAR sometimes closes.

This thread really highlights why all the newbies are going to RSBot.

I've been running Tara's Chicken Killer for a few days and that function seems to be working adequately in the scheme of things.

I assume using SMART would be the reason I'm not seeing any of the SCAR errors, though I believe I had a small problem starting out that a quick restart fixed.

Yes I am not running smart since it refuses to tunnel my IP.

Also:

GetBlackChatMessage is not working anymore.

I have also regained interest in scripting and expect to be more active once I overcome the flu :(

True.
We can open up as much we like, but things won't change until we get a fully working SCAR(Rs_GetUpText 100% As well… sorry freddy, but it doesn't work 100%), and SRL.

Randoms are not working at all atm, or well.. some do, but it's really risky.

Reflection is also out, can't blame method… he lost interest in updating his client.

Only one way to solve it, and it's to lift our lazy asses and get going….
Maybe not right now, but for the love of uhm.. fakawi let's have a stable SRL by xmas?

I'll be free from school, and somewhat practice during these times, and have a lot more spare time. I understand not everyone will have more time, and some are traveling and so on..

But if you're home, and don't have anything to do, please… Help me in giving ourself, as we really are, giving ourself a xmas gift by working together.

Sorry for my grammar mistakes, but I've just got back from the worst sparring of my life.

Banking.scar, AutoColor.scar are the files to update, everything else seems to work OK I think?

YoHoJo

Why not make a new thread in SSRL (so I can see it too :p) about what NEEDS to and SHOULD be fixed in SRL so we cant get to it, and slowly but surely check things off of the list?
