How do you know something was a dream?
You wake up, right.
so what if one day, you wake up from what we all know as life?

Life is not the same as dreams, first you must understand what dreams are.
They are hallucinations caused at night when your brain is sorting information and using a small amount natural DMT.
If you did 'wake up' from reality, then 'reality' would be a far different from dreams.
But 'waking up' from reality it just a fantasy humans make to please their curiosity of comprehension.

I'm guessing opinion. I'm with rya. I remember like 3 seconds after a dream but just forget it.

someone should make a movie about it. Maybe you have to take a pill to wake up and find the world is overrun by machines and in a desperate attempt to stop the machines solar-powered energy you destroy the sun, only to find out that the machines can harvest humans for energy. I think breaking it up into a perfect trilogy would be awesome, maybe Keeanu (cant spell) Reeves should play the main character.

it has nothing to do with the matrix trilogy at all. On an unrelated note, they did take out the sun thats why they cant be on the surface anymore and live in the "old" pipe systems or something along those lines. I've watch the first/second like a billion times on TV :)

There's an interesting phenomenon called false awakening. It's similar to jakeyboy29's description. You wake up in the morning, leave your bed, eat breakfast, brush your teeth, talk to family basically stuff you do every day then BAM! you open your eyes lying in the bed with face like :O asking yourself what just have happened :D It's hard to believe that everything you did in last 10-20 minutes was extremely convincing dream about waking up.

They didn't destroy the sun, they blocked out the sky with clouds (probably from nuclear explosions) as seen in the third movie.

That wasn't a give away of anything at all, they imply it in the first movie aswell. That bit of information would be meaningless while watching the movie the first time.
Yea that on the other hand…. it's true :duh:

I love philosophy haha. Even if this isn't a dream, how do you know any of us exist. We're all just on the internet, how do you know it's not some guy with no life that's made hundreds of identities. How do you know that anyone or anything in this world exists. What if it's just you Jakeyboy, in an empty world, and we're all just your imagination to fill up your world. Nothing could exist and it could all be in your head to fill up the emptiness.
lol, that'd be funny if everyone on here was just all one guy with no life.

Its cause dreams are stored in your short-term memory, they never transfer to your long term memory, ergo you forget :p

Nightmares =/= dreams.
I'm serious about that ^.
A nightmare is an unpleasant dream.
- Wikipedia
nightmare (a terrifying or deeply upsetting dream)
- Princeton University WordNet
A nightmare is a very distressing dream which usually forces at least partial awakening.
- International Association for the Study of Dreams
A nightmare is a dream occurring during rapid eye movement (REM) sleep that results in feelings of inescapable terror, fear or extreme anxiety.

This makes me think a lot more about dreams lol. I mean, Sometimes (I know this sounds pretty impossible to some people) I dream about something. I dont necessarily remember the dream that morning, the previous morning etc. But during the day, I can foretell at least one thing, it could be when someone is saying something, or taking an action. When the person begins saying something(when they say the first word of the sentence) or when I hear a couple of words and look at a specific person, My mind just shifts into a memory like phase, and it tells me exactly whats going to happen. As if I was living it, and it feels like i saw it in one of my dreams when I went to sleep. Its really frightening. Its only happened 1/20 times during the day. Its Scar xD, Anyone else ever experience some type of foretelling sense? When it happens I see everything happen in my head, with sound and everything on whats going happen in reality. Its extremely rare but definitely has happened on more then a couple days in my life.

I think its normal for a human to feel some type of sense like that , It could be some type of random psychic sense we all have >.>
