Bullzeye said he had fixed this, but not in SvN it seems?
Anyway, it flickers as hell on Windows. On Linux it is no problem.

Flickers? Definitely not here.

Oh I just thought of this idea: We could make two forms.
One for the whole screen image, and one for the actual color information.. Then just move the latter form around the screen while updating. May be less CPU intensive?

Quite. If you think that will work?
Perhaps just two images that overlap.

Or only redraw the part of the image that needs redrawing?

Can we have the image be something in a form and the color information as just a TImage that floats around with the mouse?

Already does that right now

I said that it made it much smoother on Windows if the timer was removed, but you said that it was there for a Linux-related reason IIRC, so I didn't remove it. It's quite smooth for me on Windows, but lags like hell on Linux.

I took out the timer voor Windows.

Can make it less flickering by putting a last-moved-check? But meh, you should just stop running mufasa in your shitty VM and it will all be fine :D

I didn't use a VM, I used Fakawi's Quad Core Windows XP. I was showing him Mufasa.

Have we resolved this yet?
If not, I think we should partially rewrite the colour picker. Make it two forms. One that doesn't change (the entire image), and the other one overlaps the current one (with colour data).

I would also like to say that the dual screen still didn't work for me.

That's also Windows Specific then, cause it works here on Linux. :)

Shat :-(

No way for me to test that situation though..

I gave you a Windows specific fix?

I applied your fix, iirc.. So I've got no clue what can possibly be wrong then

Perhaps just draw to a TBitmap first, and then draw to the form canvas…?
That should do it.
Otherwise use a double-buffered TCanvas. (Lazarus Gamepack)

I rewrote most of the color picker. It is very smooth and, as far as I can tell, bug free.
