Black Market Suggestion

As of right now (correct me if i'm wrong but) only SRL members can buy/sell accounts at the Black Market.
I wanted to throw out a suggestion that some of you may like.

I've been a member of RScheata forums for quite a while.
They have quite an interesting buy/sell ranking system.

S1 - Paypal Address ownership verification
S2- Phone # Verified, address filed - Must be S1 first
S3- Address Verified by letter - Must be S2 first

Note: You can only make a thread if you have S1 or Seller Rank 1.
You can post on the threads even if you don't have a rank. (I don't like this)

As of now, I doubt there's a lot of buying/selling happening here.
This ranking system would allow everybody/most to be involved and greatly reduce the amount of scamming.

Please don't say 'get SRL members if you want to be apart of the blackmarket'

I am not suggesting this for myself,
I am suggesting this for all the members here that are trustworthy but do not have the SRL-Member reputation to be apart of the Black Market.

Please concider my suggestion.. don't blow it off.. cause I didn't have to post this suggestion.
I want to help the community out.

This is indeed a very interesting suggestion, and could definitely work, although I am not sure if it is viable as of right now.

I will make sure Markus( the BM leader) has a look at this and we'll discuss it up in staff forums.

I'm just suggesting it because I used to really like this community. (I have moved on..) But I know for sure that this could work.. and help the community greatly. Not only would there be more accounts being bought and sold, but more people would come to these forums to buy/sell their accounts.

Just fyi I saw this, and we'll take a look at it.

it seems like it could take a lot of time in order to hand verify all of the accounts. And as for the S3 rating "S3- Address Verified by letter - Must be S2 first" who will be paying the postage to every address?

On RScheata it costs 5$ to apply for S1/S2/S3.
Which reduces the amount of people applying :p

For the mailing letter.. you could have the person applying for S3 mail it to the closest Black Market Admin's address.
So instead of mailing from Canada -> Eastern Europe.. you could mail to USA if a Black Market Admin lives there.

but that doesn't confirm mailing address, as the post office doesn't check to make sure you put your address as the return address, you don't even need one on the letter.
The only thing it would confirm is what post office the letter was sent from.

Seems like a very good idea :)

Well, you could have someone send a letter to the person and have them send it back. That said, I don't really like the S3 part. I do, however, like the S1 and S2 ideas.

that just doubles the postage costs… :(

I'm not trying to be difficult, just trying to work it out to be cheap and efficient, if there were volunteers for the S1/2 then those would work well, S3 is the monetarily consuming part.

I'm not sure how they determin if somebody has written a real/fake address.
If Black Market mods don't like the 's3 rank' they can make up another that's more practical.

You could of course, write something like "pancakes > waffles" inside the letter, then the person who received it should PM it back to the verifier. That way, you can be pretty certain about someone's address. RSCA does it the same way.

Besides phone calls to the other side of the world also aren't free, so I'll have to charge *something* anyway.

Why dont we jsut let guys who have proven that they ccan be trustworthy over time into it and if someone blows it then we go back to the original plan

How would you know if somebody is or isn't trustworthy if you haven't given them a chance?

This system would give people a chance to prove themselves.
This system also let's people know that there are consequences if they try to scam.
If they have S1, Admins have their paypal information.
If they're S2, Admins also have their address.

This information can be used to prosecute them furthur.. because scamming IS stealing.

About the phone calls, couldn't people use Skype to verify themselves?
(I think Skype is free… maybe it isn't)

Skype is free. (unless you are calling to a regular phone, then it costs money)

sounds like a good idea, S3 seems inplausable. Normally to these requests many people would say, "A black market doesn't belong on SRL." This is actually a good idea to level the playing field.

I know we do, but many people don't think it belongs on the rest. Members have (somewhat) been proven. Everyone else, well not.

This allows people to be held accountable for their actions.
