Hope they fixed all the kinks during the down time, I want them to make some cool discoveries in there.

The chance of it exploding the world is the same as the chance of you winning the lottery. It's quite win.

Really? I thought it was one of those things that was less likely to occur than winning the lottery.

yea, like the same basic thing happens thousands of times a year (could me millions i forget) when such things hit our atmosphere iirc. Not quite sure where i got the fact, but im fairly sure its correct. But then again…silly birds and their bread…potentially bringing the whole thing down, now im not so sure a catastrophic meltdown is impossible.
Now I'll have to listen to idiots telling me the world is going to end again.. *sigh*

The worst part are the dumb bitches at school who hear one word from the news as they walk by the TV, then they'll be - "jesus no, I heard something about world destruction too!"

Good thing is, if the world's going to be destroyed, it'll happen so fast we'll barely notice :p

Well, things are going well so far. They did a low energy impact over the weekend.

So fuck, nothing is going to explode? I wanted it all to end.
Fuck.

Sorry. The collisions that the LHC generates happen almost constantly in the cosmos. Although there is a chance that the LHC itself could blow up.

officially the highest energy particle accelerator ever, at a whopping 1.89056823 × 10^-7 joules of energy so far. (that's 1.18 trillion electron volts)

Didn't you read that people from the future came back and kicked one of the electromagnets to prevent the world from ending? The annoying thing about that is if the world would end, there would be no one to come back here… Then again, Star Trek VII proves that it's possible…
