VAC Banned - Did nothing wrong.

Well, I logged into my account yesterday, tried to join a VAC-Enabled Pub, and it says I am VAC banned. I instantly said "what the hell??", and contacted Steam support. Apparently, I, or someone else, has used hacks on the Source-Engine on my account. Hence, I am VAC banned from all Source games.

I have never hacked, and yet VALVe is sticking their fist down my throat. Srs rage here.

Anyways, what should I do now? I don't have money for a new copy of CSS, and VALVe told me they never will unban my Source-Engine on my current account. Should I keep yelling at them in Steam-Support and see if they unban? They claim I did something wrong, nothing wrong was done ;_;

Should I just quit CSS? I love playing it. If I would buy it again, I am really scared VAC will hit me again for no reason, then that's another 40 bucks for Orange-Box down the drain again…….including the fact I bought Orange-Box about 4 days ago too! Bull-freaking-horseshit.

Thanks in advance for any useful suggestions, inb4 someone goes "ROFL NUB GOT PWNT xD" ._.

Been there man, it sucks. Ever cheated on non-VAC servers?
There is 0.00% chance of getting it unbanned, whatever you do :(

Well, I think it's WINE's fault…. Steam probably saw their Directx handlers as being a wallhack or something >_>

I have never cheated on any servers.

@Sex: thanks for the offer, but no thanks, I would rather have it on my own account. Would suck if I got you VAC'd too :p

@Dr D. Dervish: I still then have "VAC BANNED!" labeled on my old account, and I have a lot of friends on it.

@Cartmann: they say they don't give proof ever. :(

They flag you -> some time later BAN. They won't give out proof and/or evidence, because then maybe hacks could be made against that >.> They don't want to show their cards.

BS, I'm sorry but VAC will only instant ban you if you are found to have known hacks loaded or stored in your steam folder. It's instant ban the moment you load up.
There is no chance of getting it unbanned unless they admit they made a mistake.
And isn't CSS like.. really old now? 6 years?

Yea, but a lot of us have crappy computer (I myself have 1.6GHz, I cant run any kind of game). And CS:S Is pretty good (afaik. I havent played it before) for a crappy computer.

Harry, call them irl. That will prabably sort things out.

That would be because you were banned before they introduce permanent banning. When I played CS 1.6 VAC only banned for a few months, then they changed and upped it to 1 year, and then(now) permanent.

He's not 100% sure that is the case, though.

[Troll]Don't use faggy linux. Everything would have been better with window$[/troll]

I think you have like 0.001% chance on getting the ban removed, but I guess it's worth a try.. And if you buy another copy I wouldn't suggest playing until you figure out what caused the ban as they have some automatic system for detecting hackers and there's obviously something causing a false alarm on your pc, so you'd just find your new account b& in a couple weeks too.

[QUOTE=Dan's The Man;657519]He's not 100% sure that is the case, though.

And considering I have several friends who have played via WINE for years and aren't banned, it's only a very slim chance that it was the cause.

Just quit css and get modernwar fare 2, I was a very good css player, that game is so under-updated.

It's a piss poor excuse for an fps, it's a mixx between quake 3 and cs 1.6.

cs 1.6 > all! in this case oldschool rules.

I did a few days ago, no reply.

And VAC bans are per-engine. I am VAC'd on all HL2 Engine games, aka CSS, HL2, etc. NOT VAC'd on L4D, L4D2, HL1, etc.

CS 1.6 > CS:S

I am playing through modern warfare now, it's good, but I am not blown away by it. There is nothing at all that has blown me away for a game. The like 2nd or third mission where you are undercover and kill all though civilians is pretty interesting that they included it.

I've been playing CS 1.6 for years with my 5 digit and have never been 'randomly' VAC banned. VAC (Valve Anti-Cheat) scans your local memory for known loaded hacks/cheats then flags your account, if VAC detects the same hack/cheat with-in two weeks of originally flagging your account then it is permanently banned, no questions asked and no chance of ever getting it unbanned.

VAC uses several methods to detect hacks/cheats, it scans your local memory, it scans hl.exe for modified data, it uses CRC32 to detect hacks that they already know about, and the last one I am aware of is that they can take random snapshots of your screen in-game (on VAC secured servers with no modifications, etc WC3 mod) and then a program determines if there are any cheats viewable on the picture, they do this by taking a screenshot from your own pc, submitting the data and then erasing the picture. This is the least used method.

There's most likely a few more ways that I do not know about.
I'm surprised that you got banned even after VAC hasn't updated in years. :\
