Rectangle walking

I have been thinking, and I've come up with an idea for a new walking procedure.. But I thought I might ask someone if it is useful to them or if it is a waste of my time.
It will use rectangles to walk a certain amount of pixels away in any direction. The rectangles are just hypothetical, the script will find the position you want the rectangle and randomize the co-ords to be within the rectangle. Based on this system, it is possible to walk to certain tiles (but not the same one each time) on a path from, say the bank, to the flax spinning house or something. It doesn't have to follow any colours and it should be able to put you right in front of a door. Before you walk to the random spot in the rectangle, the amount of pixels to the top-left of the rectangle will be stored somewhere to adjust for your random position and keep walking. You can also choose the rectangle size (eg. 3*3)
Any good? I don't know much about radialwalk's randomness or exactness.. So if I'm wasting my time then please let me know.

I never understand your ideas, lol. But i think i know what you mean.

If their's no colors and just the rectangles area co-ords then it does have a chance of screwing up.

I use something like this in an rs script me and Pyro are making. It works pretty well to.
Although i just used MouseBox which could also work with it. :)

you do know that the way the mmouse/mouse procedures randomize the co-ords by rx, and ry in a box not just x := x + random(rx); mousebox was un-needed.

I still prefer using MouseBox.

I see what you mean with the mouse procedures. I also had a few other ideas for procedures, like minimap-to-screen.. Where a position on the minimap would have a corresponding mainscreen co-ordinate in a grid (like inventory co-ords).
Bah I think I have a different chain of thought to everyone else :/ Nobody ever follows what I'm talking about :D

i see what you are gettin at with the MM-MS thing.. like you get the coord on the minimap.. then the script moves the mouse to a position that corresponds to the MM.. but on the MS?

Yep, for Npc's, doors etc.. I think someone may have stolen my idea by the look of another thread =.=

sounds good but sounds like ti would be a bitch to get right

Nah it would be really easy to do.. But I'm not sure how well it would work… We could definately factor in the isometrics to the calculation. I haven't really done a lot of investigating into whether random camera movement (to stop auto-clickers) would affect it greatly.. But I'm sure that the minimap and mainscreen are probably not going to be alligned very well. It would be a rough estimate at best, but I figure it would come very close to the area of the target (if not on)..

I like the mm-ms and ms-mm idea. I had done a bit of investigation into that in the past. It works real good for close objects but does not work well for long distances due to unknown angle difference between mm and ms. I never figured out how to determine ms angle. Since Benland has developed edge detection, it might be possible to stand beside a known wall (like in the bank) and determine the screen angle.

Another good use for this is for door openers, object/NPC finders. You spot the item on the minimap and move your mouse to the location on the mainscreen… then you might only have to do a small spiral search to find the item (if you keep spiral small its virtually undetectable).

That is quite an idea there flyboy. Edge detection? That benland works too hard :)
