XML Support?

Since we have INIs this maybe redundant, but XML documents are far superior to the current INI support.

I can work on implementing this if we believe this to be advantageous enough. I think that it would be more useful than INIs and yet another advantage to mufasa.

:D

How are they advantageous? Reading information is reading information right?

Yes, but in a much more structured and useful way.

Also just came to my attention that INI files can only be 64kb which is minimal.

Well, XML is a very good format, but I don't see it's use with SRL yet. (@Nava)

I would say JSON all the way!

I would think it would replace the use of INI's.

Where does SRL use INI's?

Well you know.. INI's have a different use than XML.
XML is more for storing a lot of 'repeated' information, while INI is more for storing small amounts of settings.

I'm not sure if there are any other places.

XML sucks balls, I'd prefer we stay away from it.

There was also some other thing describing why it completely and utterly sucked, but that one above should at least point out we really don't have a use for it.

You suck balls. XML is a fine format, just not for very specific tasks, which aren't going to be done with Mufasa/PascalScript.

You both suck balls, JSON is the way to go!

World list is pretty well suited to XML formatting silly guys :)

WorldSwitcher.scar and Users.scar uses .ini's only two things that utilizes it. As long as we have a system like ini/xml to use I could care less. We could use any.

If someone has a better idea of managing Chars/worlds.ini please share, then I wouldn't care if its in or not.

We could just use the openfile function and just create a function that would use it like an ini or any other way we would want to use it.

There have also been many talks of SmartColors using INIs, althought a finalized SmartColors include never came to existance.
