Not sure if this is the right place to ask this. I posted it on Freddy1990.com as well but that forum seems to be dead/slow.

I noticed on this page an early version of the SCAR source code was said to have been published by Kaitnieks:

Kaitnieks eventually decided to leave the RuneScape scene. Before he left, he published the source code to SCAR. Customized clients started becoming a big thing at the time, and people began creating their own RuneScape servers. Still, SCAR was the last standing macro left for RuneScape.

Does anyone know where I might find this? The latest version I can find on kaitnieks.com (from 2005) is 1.13, but no source code is listed. I'm just interested in seeing some of the bare essentials that make this work (namely, some of the color finding routines). I've seen some of the procedures in SRL but I'm interested in the low-level stuff.

Yes, that is what I was asking. Do you know where I could find this?

Yeah, we had this topic quite often. Open Source would be great, but it's all closed source T___T

I realize the latest version is closed source, but that wiki page I linked to seemed to imply that an earlier version wasn't. Even a download to that would be great.

I don't think there is. Kaitnieks gave it to Freddy at some point, long after he left.

I am not sure what the reason was… (Don't hit me if I am wrong…) : I think Freddy had a programming question on some kind, and then Kaitnieks decided to give Freddy the SCAR Source.

Huh. Well that's disappointing.

Kaintieks didn't release the source code to SCAR when he left, that wiki page was wrong, not sure who put that in there, I've corrected it… You can find and example FindColor function here though: http://www.villavu.com/forum/showthread.php?t=6397
