I know what junk is, but when people are "buying" it, is it just a simple swap of junk for rs gp?

Yes.
Sell gold:
Trade gold for 'junk'
Imbalanced trade:
Trade Item + X GP of junk for GP

:D

Yea so if i have like 10,000 willow longbows(u), would people who buy junk just buy them off me?

Or it is used in with other items etc

Nope, you've pretty much got it right…. you can make a profit by fletching low level bows, but when you add string to them, you are loosing money, so basicly, you gained experience fletching, but basicly noboy is going to buy them on GE, as they have no demand…other examples are items made from leather, pottery, etc…..seeing you are not allowed to do unbalenced trades, the gold seller will buy your junk, thus converting it to RSGPS …

Another use for junk, is when you are "renting" out items…you lend an item to someone, and you have them buy your junk from you, thus turning a normal item that is not in demand and hard to sell, into RSGPS, for borrowing your item for a specific period of time

I see some people buying junk, they usually give the lowest offer available, and just resell it in 1 of the ways mentioned above…

Hope this helps,
