SRL Member Applications

Due to a lot of the majority of recent registered user/junior member applications scripts' being blank, or really simple, I believe that the PHP of that module(/addon/whatever) should be modified so that it scans through the the text box in which a SCAR script is usually placed, to find the following (case insensitive, of course):

{.include SRL\SRL.scar}
Players[
SetupSRL
var
begin
end.
function
procedure

If at least one of those aren't found (it would only really need to be found once (e.g: if(stripos(…) != 0) { break } else { … } )), it will result in an error stating the reasons why it was declined ("not SRL Member material", etc) and a link to the Tutorials section of the board.

It can also be possible to add more keywords to make it's detection more SRL Member worthy.

But yeh, that's my proposal and i hope it will get accepted to help reduce the amount of "spam applications" and the repetitive and spam posts made by fellow SRL Members in those applications. Another reason is also to
More keywords could be added though, if necessary.

I have added a public poll (not sure if it will matter, but will show what the majority wants) on this topic so please vote in it as to what you think is best.

EDIT: Or, if that isn't possible, why not enforce a restriction (say, a person has to be an SRL Junior Member or have a maximum of x posts).

And something to check if there is a clickmouse in it then auto-decline (not movemouse in case he made his own mouse function)
I say yes

Nice idea. I am getting tired of the majority of the applications I see being simple scripts / no scripts at all.

This would also help out the admins / mods by not having to close tons of apps.

People can make great scripts without functions, so you probably wont need that

I know that, however, people should know how to use functions and try to use them a lot in their scripts, instead of just procedures. Thus, reducing the amount of global variables per script. Just a thought.

What he said.

I agree with this, it will reduce the spam applications. Not to mention, I'm not 100% sure, but I think it is just a PHP form, so adding this shouldn't be too hard?

+ 1. The staff have been dealing with such applications efficiently enough, i see no need to go this far.
