Like in Scar when you do the first ( it pops up the little function help thing or when you press CTRL + Space and it helps you search.
We NEED that
I NEED that :p

<Widget`> can we do that thing that shows you a list of functions that match whatever you've typed so far?
<Widget`> ctrl+space on most IDEs
<Widget`> i think at least

Nielsie has made this kind of stuff, just has to be finished + converted (from delphi) & implemented into Mufasa.

I definitely think this is a good idea, however I don't really know of the best way to implement it. I don't mean code wise, I mean looks wise.
The way I see it, there are a couple of options here (All of which should have an option to be disabled):
For actual code completion:
1) Do OpenOffice-style completion.
The way that openoffice does autocompletion, as you are typing a word, the rest of it will show up after the part you are typing, and it will look like it's highlighted. If you press enter, the autocompletion will be kept, and if you press space, the autocompletion will just disappear.
You can also go deeper into how exactly this works. For example, pressing enter or tab can either only autocomplete up to the beginning of the first parameter, or all the way to the end of the function, using the function parameter names.
(I don't know how to highlight text in vBulletin, so just pretend the different-coloured text is actually highlightedThe way it would look in the editor would be like
"procedure HakunaMatata" Say your cursor is just at the beginning of the highlighting. If you type "n", it will just overwrite the n that exists. If you press enter or tab, it will move the cursor to the end of Matata. Anything else will remove the autocompletion.
Of course, since this is Open Office, there are no actual function definitions, so that could be easily improvised, with either a tooltip under the autocompletion or a definition of the function in the status bar.
2) Dev-C++/Eclipse style completion.
The way that DevC++ does autocompletion is it shows a list of possible completions as a dropdown list at the cursor. Then you can press up and down and select which function you want to autocomplete to. This one I personally don't like as much, because if you're trying to quickly write code and you need to go down or up in the code, you end up only moving around in the list.
Descriptions of the functions can just go in the list, just to the right of each function.
3) Information-only completion.
This is one that I've seen before but cannot for the life of me remember where. Basically this also shows a list, however it only shows you what possibilities there are. It doesn't allow you to actually select any of the completions. That way it isn't as intrusive as #2, although it may not be as fast as just picking which one you want.
Descriptions of the functions can just go in the list, just to the right of each function.
So there are plenty of options, and my personal favourite is #1, however I want to know what others' opinions are.
tl;dr Gawd, just go read it :P

I like #2 the most. Almost always when I'm dealing with forms I have look at the list of functions for some random component. Of course, it should be able to be turned off and pre-caching whatever's included in the script would be a good idea as well (I think SCAR does this as of 3.21 too)

@NxTitle
I like #1 as well.

I think 1 with the parameters appearing below the function after it has been completed would be the best solution :)

I want 1 and 3 together - just having the one option annoys me as I am too lazy to remember all the functions and there are often similarly named ones that are not the one I want :(
