POMS aims at providing a way for mutliple people to collaborate on scripts
so far we have
A pretty good essence miner
25% of a tutorial runner.
What I'm (we're) looking for is:
- Active scripters
- Script ideas (i.e. Tutorial Runner, Essence Miner ect.)
- Other productive comments, suggestions, and views.

Everyone will be treated as near equals in the project creations, this will almost be like a public encyclopedia (wikipedia), except there will be some overhang to make sure things aren't to chaotic.
So far it has been decided that people will join the team by invite, and the threshold for joining will be relativity lower than MSI or SRL, but the quality will be scrutinized and overlooked carefully by myself and other main contributors. Abusers will be kicked from the project immediately. All projects will be
entirely color based for the time being.
A googlecode account will be needed by anyone who wishes to contribute.
http://code.google.com/p/srlpoms/Will be the project home.
I need everyone's googlecode account name so I can send invites or whatever. PM or post 'em.

Hidden code in the script is not possible, shared passwords will be non-existent/ separate&private. All individual user data will be stored with some sort of data file on the user's computer rather than in the script. Kinda like my runecrafter where no actual passwords or anything are stored in the script file itself.
I like this idea, I'm interested.

Well, I have a fairly universal fishing script that's in the making, I may release it after Draynor and Karamja banking are finished. I found a really neat way of finding a fishing spot even though it's a bit mathy. If it comes out really cool, i may submit it to this project, but, that's only if I decide to make it a public script. (and if there is a need for it).

Would probably be best if that script was maintained by you for the near future, because I am considering starting off with an essence miner first.
On another note, I'm also thinking of a project name. So far I have

Good idea, but its like MSI, and msi almost always fails.
MSI is a big undertaking… basically started as a collective of different functions/procedures that could be used universally for different scripts, however the main draw back was that in adding all these extra procedures to the MSI include, it slowed SCAR down (mili-seconds, IMHO, not that noticeably) ..I always liked the ideas of having these functions available, so that we didn't have 5 different ways to scratch your butt..however, I also understand, by not making these universally available, it forces people to take an active role in developing new and individual ways of doing something in their script….
NiCbaz, I think it IceFire is going a step above and beyond to help this community with this idea, please try to keep posts positive and optimistic…if not, please at least take the time to try and explain why you think it will fail.
~RAMBTW, count me in…busy with a few other projects atm, but I'll help with what I can…I'd like to hear other Admin's input, but seems the next logical step is…sub-forums, add to MSI or create new…I browsed over MSI, but see it isn't to active ?….

MSI targets too much, this is focused on individual scripts with a specific purpose, so this should be a hundred times easier and more efficient.
@RAM, the difference isn't milliseconds, it's 3000-10,000 mili seconds, that and MSI is just to large, scripts run a lot slower…
I guess I am going start a googlecode for a folder containing the needed files soon and post it here.

No, it doesn't solve anything.
The problem is a result of the file not existing the first time you run the script because it needs to load, the reason it can not be added to the SVN is because some one might accidentally commit their passwords. If the script saved the settings to a different location the file would still not exist the very first time you run the script…. this is a small problem because it only ever happens once to the same person unless they somehow delete that file. I was asking if anyone knew a way for a blank file to come packaged with the SVN that could not be committed, your 'solution' would only complicate things further.

Added my two functions and did a little standards work.
Edit: I was doing some research and found out that if you ignore a file and commit the whole folder, that file doesn't get committed. The only thing is that the user has to do it themselves. I'm going to play around with it a little more and see what I can find out. Looks like you can lock a file so no one can change it. I'm going to try it and see what happens.
Edit2: Nevermind, locking is temporarily disabled. I added my SettingsExist function, I didn't know where to put it exactly so it's just in there waiting to be called.
IceFire, if you could look into locking a file by Admin then the problem would be solved. They would be able to retrieve it from SVN, but wouldn't be able to update that file.

Well for now it's completely ok for anyone to
add anything to the file, after we have enough information/outline/needed functions we'll start making everything more complex and intricate. I commented it out because it wasn't really code moreso an outline.
The reason I am saying this, is because I want to encourage as much activity in the script right now as possible to get a large amount of useful code we can compile into a nice piece of work.

Added a bunch of junk, and TBH guys, you really need to start submitting stuff that is thoroughly tested and tweaked.
FindEssSournce, TeleportAubury, TeleportOut, FindPortal, WalkToShop… all fail like 80% of the time.

You have to compensate for moving portals, changing worlds, moving aubury/covered up by other players. A lot can go wrong… it seems like everything only works when the stars aline.

While you guys are developing I suggest adding couple different procedures that do the same thing. However do this sparingly if one just fails to much remove it or mark it as failing in the repository. Sucks for the creator I know but if you want a well working joint script you have to give criticism and be willing to take it.
1. You can test the effectiveness of each of them
2. backup failsafes
3. In the end create one that uses the best of each for a well working procedure
And what Icefire basically said - things move. Consider any possibilities that your function will fail at. The most dynamic function is the best.

WalkInVEB, CheckPick, InitPlayer, MineEssence, FindEssenceSource all seem to work very well.
Find portal doesn't work at all… Aubury is pretty bad too. WalkToShop, WalkToBank need to be written/rewritten. Then after some tweaking/finalizing, the first beta version should be up and running. :spot:
Update:
Should now complete round trip, not quite ready for Alpha though.

The old one was poorly written/ organized, and it didn't work well. Naum said he didn't even test it. Your welcome to add onto that one edit or what not, but the old one had to be scrapped… it was just to important chunk of the script that needed to just plain work better. Believe it or not, that chunk of code has about a 95% success rate.
More importantly the banker/bankbooth finder needs help. SRL's open bank is horrible for VEB.

I didn't test much, and wrote it in about 2 hours. I am dead tired, and tried to hold up to what I said :) I haven't done anything in SCAR for months, so I thought this was my
opportunity :p please please please test. It should work without having to move the mouse and check uptext etc. Gawd I hate it when scripts do that.
Edit: With more testing, it does well at finding, but occationally doesnt. It will never get wrong points though.

repeat
if (FindAubury(x)) then
begin

would do, but of course with more fail saves :)

So, my script has been added to the repository =D. I think that a check for if someone else is casting on it (maybe through chatbox? Could use TPA finding, too..) would be necessary. I wrote my TPA function to return an ATPA just so I could run that through another function which would check which ones were being cast upon.

Latest SRL automatically includes Smart if you use {$define SMART}.. I saw that the essence miner had something similar implemented, so you might want to change that ;).

Sorry I missed your post, I'll change that.

In other news, I'm currently restructuring POMS a lot. If you want any say on this now is the time to post.
The main thing I want input on is the Advanced Settings GUI Form.
There will no longer be any commit-able data, all external INI files for the settings. The form will be accessed through the local includes and called when a new 'Advanced Settings' Button on the existing Forms is clicked.
It will need to include
- SRL Stats ID (TEdit)
- SRL Stats Password
- RC Master
- AntiBanChance
- TakeBreaksEvery
- TakeBreaks (Checkbox)
- Play Random Sound (CheckBox)
- Use SMART (CheckBox)
- SMART Stats (CheckBox)
- SMART TPA Debug (CheckBox)
- DebugTPA (Checkbox)
- Reset To Defaults (Button)
- BorderStyle := BSToolWindow;
- A cool background maybe?
- And anything else I may have forgotten
Post some good screen shots/ .dfms or suggestions of what you think would work well and look nice.
Edit:
is what I'm going to use so far.
