I've been inactive for a couple for months now (school).
But I've just stumbled upon the crappy source code of my old forum.

I've re-made it from scratch (again, but this time it is legible to me, and looks almost the same as the old forum.

I am currently the only member, but I will import the old forum's database to make all of the old members active again.

The old forum is broken for now, but it is found at http://php-forum.orgfree.com/old/

Tell me how you like the new version (WIP for now, re-making the registering system)!

I honestly don't like the layout of the site. But to each his own, good job tho :)

i like the background and the top part, and the javascript effects, but much of the text is too large if this were to actually have a lot of threads.

Register doesn't work.

Like the Javascript effects.

(Trying to point out that you can have register and log in at once.. I think that's a bug.. :p)

Mostly its just the sizes of things. All of the text that you made bigger can probably do while being smaller. Just bold or style differently to put emphasis if you need to.

How did you get that to happen?

Why such long article ID's… Lols. Further, coding looks good, layout a little plain. Still, not bad.

So no two items get mixed up.
Users, categories, posts, and comments all have 20 char ID's.

Why not make them:
u1, u2
cat1, cat2
p1, p2
com1, com2

OR:
blabla.php?type=user&id=1
blabla.php?type=cat&id=1
blabla.php?type=post&id=2

20 char is kind of radical ;S

Here's the latest build, but there has to be a mysql database set up and a couple of tables.
Note that you can't do anything, whether you're logged in or not, since I'm still making that part.

I'll make an installer when I finish it.

You have to make a .sql file of the DB structure, the .sql file will then have to be imported. If you make an installer then all you need to do is have to user fill in the DB name, then just query whats in the .sql file.

Or just make 4 queries for the users, replies, categories, and articles…

hey, if u open and close login or register, it looks like it's opening diagonally due to the background. lol it fools my brain every time!
