Dear SRL Members,

:) Isn't that a nice way to start a thread? Anyway, here is my question: Is anyone interested in running JR SC #2?

What does this involve?

• Making a thread with the rules + which script + discussion + etc
• Setting an end date (i suggest one month from the day it starts)

then when the scripts are sent in:

• Picking a team of judges (5-10) to help you judge the scripts. You will get your own forums for this; You will also be allowed to look at how I did it for the previous competition if you need guidance. Of course you'll also have my watchful and helpful eye on you.

Anyone up for it?

Why do you want to do this:
Im back, and active, and i think SRL Script competitions are a perfect way to get more people interested in scripting. Having a competitive environment to try their very hardest to be on top! And even if they loose, the AMAZING feedback they receive from the Judges will help them improve their stills greatly. It gets people off of thier lazy asses, and gives them a goal. So i want to do this because it will give people a chance to learn and have fun, exactly what SRL is all about!

Why do you think you are fit to do this:
Im a decent scripter :/ (But its the Judges that need the scripting skills, not me :D so that's fine rawight?)
Althought im not the best scripter, I've been around the SCAR community for a VERY long time, seen lots of scripts and scripting methods. I give lots of feedback and helpful information when judging SRL member scripts or just helping people out on the forum or MSN. And although my code may not be up to par with some of the Devs, I believe ic an still critique and help out scripters a lot.

Id call myself a fairly nice and helpful person. So I'd love to organize this.

I have a decent amount of free time (as many people have seen now that im back after a long hiatus ive been a fairly active poster)

Basically, (not that longevity matters), Ive been around the SCAR scene forever, and it shows my love and passion for it. Learning, helping, scripting, working together, teamwork, and a bit of competition. Its what its all about! I came to kaitniekts and a nub leecher not knowing a thing! But due to the great kaitneiks and SRL community I'velearned so much, had so much fun, and made so many friends! I'd just love doing this in order to return the favor/help everyone out!

Why do you think you are fit to do this:  i pretty much made the rules to the one in members but they got rejected and they used the old rules and i want redemption!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why do you want to do this: Umm well I love running competitions.It will give me a reason to stay. also i have holidays starting on wednesday :D
Why do you think you are fit to do this: Well I have run 2 Autoing Comps. I have run many competitions. I will do the best job I can, I will make the rules clear and fair, I will make the the goal challenging but fair, I will also pick the best/fairest judges for the job.
I hope I get the honour in running this competition.

Why limit this to just Junior Members, though? I'd love to see a forum-wide competition again instead of one limited to a select few people.

If we made a forum wide competition, Devs will own the Jrs.

I can judge too, I really put alot of time towards standards and ease of read on my own scripts.

I remember a JM complaning that they could never win a scripting competition because the members would drown them out. I like the idea, not everyone's the best.

How many active junior members do you think we have that would actually finish and submit a script for the competition?

I can't think of many, if there even are enough to hold a competition with.

There has been one already, and i believe 5+ people entered, and that's a good amount.
Not forum wide because different scripting levels. We can have a Jr member only, SRL member only, and dev only ones another time if you wish though. And like I said in my post, the competition gives people a reason/goal/idea to script and try hard, im sure we have a ton of competitive JR Members who have at least decent scripting skills and want to show their stuff and pwn some other Jr members!

Why do you think you are fit to do this: Because I like critiquing scripts/members apps. Usually a little unorganized but using a template I think I could make things look better.

I want to be the Organizer, if I dont im gonna to cry to JAD like a toddler! I will FOR SURE pick him as a judge though, he was the FIRST in my mind for that position.

Why I want to do this:
Want to become a larger contributor to the forum. Feel like I am ready to take on some responsibilities. Uhm, I promise I won't use new found power to start a communist revolution in the immediate future (I think YoHoJo would). Oh, I feel like the best way to get the forum active again is to get good scripts starting up again.

Why I think I am fit to do this:
Despite lack of evidence, I am a fairly skilled scripter. I do have a keen eye for spotting logical flaws in scripts and I am active enough to ensure everything remains under control. I would say that I am pretty unbiased when it comes to important decisions regarding people (if anyone says otherwise then they're just being biased and so should be disregarded). Also, I can bend over if you wish and I have cookies. Oh, I have also run two somewhat competitions - ye olde cryptography competition and current LoS - both were some what of shambles, but it is from mistakes we learn the most and both have been successes still.

Why do you want to do this:
Because if i start at SRL Member like you i can slowly get Dev, Mod, and Admin

I can do anything.

Why do you want to do this: Because, within a few weeks all my assignments and tests will finish, so i'd have a lot of available time that can be used for this. I also think that this is a viable way to contribute more to the community, because what ;

Why do you think you're fit to do this: I understand SCARs language pretty well and believe-it-or-not a good scripter. People always seem to ask me for help on MSN with their SCAR scripts (*looks at BobboHobbo* :rolleyes:) or just look through it and spot out anyways to speed, shorten or fix areas of their script and give hints (*again, looks at BobboHobbo* :rolleyes:).

:p Remember, i'll judge, not manage. Although you only stated that you wanted people to run it, then THEY choose the judges, i just thought it would be good if those "competition managers" would look here too :p

No one said manager necessarily had to be a good scripter. :D

Manager had to make the rules/threads/regulations/tell what script to make and pick judges.
Even if I do have to be a judge you don't need to be good at X to know that something is wrong with X and tell someone how to make X better. I think I can judge scripts just fine.

Ex: "Hey you wangster, you suck at dancing, you don't move around enough and do the same moves too often."
