Finally you apply again! :D
I vote yes, It seems like you know enough to be a member and your attitude is averange :)

One thing: in FindPerson;
I see you did FindColorsSpiralTolerance() without an if … then, which is understandable; there is some problems with FindColorsSpiralTolerance, but what if It failed? Wouldn't TPAtoATPA cause a runtime error?

Line 217: [Error] (20916:27): Type mismatch in script

if not FindFallyRoadColor then

It returns a integer so you cant do it, it should be something like

if (FindFallyRoadColor > 0) then

yes.

You still owe me a site im still willing to pay you the $50

Rich

No, sorry, it doesn't compile. People will flame me for this, but at least test the script before you apply.

I fixed the first error:

Failed when compiling
Line 217: [Error] (20906:27): Type mismatch in script
Failed when compiling
Then I got another:

Line 219: [Error] (20908:11): Unknown identifier 'FindFallyRRDColor' in script

Also, why members?

Smart_Members := True;

Sorry, no.

You have the player array at default not working. How many players is 3, but there's only 1 player? Change HowManyPlayers to 1 or add 2 more players.

Why not make Load (in the constants) a variable in the player array? That way, each player can do a different amount of loads. Add it as an integers variable like:

with Players[0] do
begin
Integers[0] := 10; //Loads Until Next Player
//...etc.
end;

Then to use it later, you would just do like:

if(Players[CurrentPlayer].Integers[0] > LoadsDone)then

In DebugText:

case SpamDebugBox of
True:
begin
Writeln(what);
Status(what);
Disguise(what);
end;
False: Status(what);
end;

Why use a case? You should only use a case (normally) if you are testing more than 2 conditions. Shortened:

if(SpamDebugBox)then
begin
Writeln(what);
Status(what);
Disguise(what);
end else
Status(what);

Even shorter would simply be this:

if(SpamDebugBox)then
begin
Writeln(what);
Disguise(what);
end;
Status(what);

In the progress report, you have a possible infinite loop:

repeat
X := GetSkillInfo('Smithing', False);
until(X > 0);

What if it is unable to obtain the skill info? Then this will go on forever. You should also have a wait in there to prevent lag as well:

MarkTime(Timer);
repeat
X := GetSkillInfo('Smithing', False);
wait(100+random(50));
until(X > 0) or (TimeFromMark(Timer) > 2000+random(500));

In Prog, this could hardly be more ugly:

case what of
'full':
begin
WriteLn('----------------------------');
WriteLn('----------------------------');
WriteLn('');
WriteLn('Newbiz Smither East Fally ');
WriteLn('');
WriteLn('Ran For '+ TimeRunning);

// WriteLn('|' + Capitalize(Players[i].nick));
WriteLn('| ' + Players[i].loc);
// WriteLn('|' + +booltostr(Players[i].Active));
WriteLn('|---------------------------');
WriteLn('|---------------------------');
end;
end;

Lets at least take out the comments, move the repetitive stuff down, get rid of the case, and fixed standards a little:

WriteLn('----------------------------');
WriteLn('----------------------------');
if(LowerCase(what) = 'full')then
begin
WriteLn('');
WriteLn('Newbiz Smither East Fally ');
WriteLn('');
WriteLn('Ran For '+ TimeRunning);
If Bars > 0 then
WriteLn('Bars Made : '+IntToStr(Bars));
If Loads > 0 then
WriteLn('Loads done ' + IntToStr(Loads));
if X > 0 then
WriteLn('X');
WriteLn('');
WriteLn('----------------------------');
WriteLn('----------------------------');
end;
Writeln('Player Info:');
WriteLn('');
WriteLn('|---------------------------');
Disguise('-• Loads Done: ' + IntToStr(Loads)+'•––');
for i := 0 to HowManyPlayers - 1 do
WriteLn('| ' + Players[i].loc);
WriteLn('|---------------------------');
WriteLn('|---------------------------');

Everything that was done in small was also done in full, so that was very redundant.

In FindOre, you have a begin end in the middle of nowhere:

begin
begin
case what of
'iron': Color:=2305869;
'silver': Color:=11971499;
'coal': Color:=2702653;
'gold': Color:=1815515;
end;
end;

Why? Do:

begin
case what of
'iron': Color:=2305869;
'silver': Color:=11971499;
'coal': Color:=2702653;
'gold': Color:=1815515;
end;

Here:

function FallyRdColor: Integer;
begin
if not FindFallyRoadColor then
begin
Result := FindFallyRRDColor;
Exit;
end else Result:= FindFallyRoadColor;
end;

What? That made no sense.. You could simply do Result := FindFallyRoadColor:

function FallyRdColor: Integer;
begin
Result:= FindFallyRoadColor;
end;

In Walk, you should check if not logged in then Exit at the beginning of the function? You should move it to the top of the function. Also, you only FFlag on the fail safe, not on the original walk.. So if the script doesn't use the fail safe once, then it won't flag. It will just go onto the next walking.

In FindPerson:

for I := 0 To Length(Person) do
MMouse(Person[i].X , Person[i].Y , 5, 5);
if IsUpText('alk') then
Result:= True;

I think you're missing a begin/end here? You don't want it to move the mouse to all the points, then check the up text. You want to check it after each time. Also, you want to break if it finds the uptext then:

for I := 0 To Length(Person) do
begin
MMouse(Person[i].X , Person[i].Y , 5, 5);
Result := IsUpText('alk');
if(Result)then break;
end;

In your main loop, you do NextPlayer(true) even if not logged in? You want the players .active to be false if not logged in. So in that loop, do

if not loggedin then NextPlayer(false);

I am not going to vote, but I think there were problems in there (syntax and logic) that would make the script not work properly.

Just fix up the things that get suggested to you and good luck! :)

I'm undecided, I've seen some posts I don't like and some I do. The script looks decent and has already been picked apart a little, but that's not a biggie. I'll wait a little bit to vote based on some of your more recent posts to come.

Your script doesn't compile, as R1ch already said (yes, i did try it out myself).
JAD already posted all of the things in your script that needs fixing, so for the sake of my fingers, I am not going to type them out when they are already here.
Your attitude needs a lot of work. I'm sorry, it's true. You are a hard person to be around.
You are fairly active, +1 on the vote scale for that.

Sorry, but the cons outweigh the pros.

But that's not the way it comes out, obviously, because so many people are "seeing it from a different way".

Also, the fact that he asked to be de-memberized and was a SRL memb means nothing. If he was allowed special treatment because he was previously a SRL memb, then an admin would have made him a member already and closed this thread.

Sorry, my vote is final. I voted no because I don't think he deserves SRL members yet. Don't try to sway me any other way, because it won't work. @newbiez, Work on your attitude, make a working script, apply next month, and maybe I will vote yes.

You have in your script:

function FallyRRdColor: Integer;
var
H,S,L,X,Y,Z : Extended;
R,G,B,P,A,Color : Integer;
TPA : TPointArray;
begin
FindColorsSpiralTolerance(MMCX, MMCY, TPA, 6187895, MMX1, MMY1, MMX2, MMY2, 60)
P := High(TPA);
for A := 0 to P do
begin
if RS_OnMinimap(TPA[A].X, TPA[A].Y) then
begin
Color := GetColor(TPA[A].X, TPA[A].Y);
if SimilarColors(Color, 6187895, 50) then
begin
ColorToRGB(Color, R, G, B);
ColorToHSL(Color, H, S, L);
ColorToXYZ(Color, X, Y, Z);
if InRange(R - G, -8, 32) then
if InRange(R - B, 5, 45) then
if InRange(G - B, -7, 33) then

begin
Result := Color;
Exit;
end;
end;
end;
end;
Writeln('Color Was Not Found.');
DebugText('Color Not Foind');
Result := 0;
end;

In Cazax's autocoloring tutorial :
function MyFirstAutocolor: Integer;
var
R,G,B,TestColor : Integer;
H,S,L : Extended;
X,Y,Z : Extended;
MyColor : Integer;
ColorsTPA : TPointArray;
C1 : TIntegerArray;
i,C2: Integer;
begin

FindColorsSpiralTolerance(MSCX, MSCY, ColorsTPA, MyColor, MMX1, MMY1, MMX2, MMY2, 60);
C1 := GetColors(ColorsTPA);
C2 := High(C1);
for i := 0 to C2 do
begin
if RS_OnMinimap(ColorsTPA[i].X, ColorsTPA[i].Y) then
begin
TestColor := GetColor(ColorsTPA[i].X, ColorsTPA[i].Y);
if SimilarColors(TestColor, 1322555, 50) then
begin
ColorToRGB(TestColor, R, G, B);
ColorToHSL(TestColor, H, S, L);
ColorToXYZ(TestColor, X, Y, Z);
if InRange(R - G, -6, 29) then
if InRange(R - B, 25, 55) then
if InRange(G - B, 12, 40) then
if InRange(Round(S) - Round(H), 28, 48) then
if InRange(Round(L) - Round(H), -4, 14) then
if InRange(Round(S) - Round(L), 23, 47) then
if InRange(Round(X) - Round(Y), -8, 9) then
if InRange(Round(Y) - Round(Z), -7, 9) then
if GetColor(ColorsTPA[i].X + 2, ColorsTPA[i].Y + 2) = TestColor then
if GetColor(ColorsTPA[i].X + 1, ColorsTPA[i].Y + 1) = TestColor then
begin
Writeln('MyColor = '+Inttostr(TestColor));
Result := TestColor;
Exit;
end;
end;
end;
end;
Writeln('Couldnt find My Color!');
Result := 0;
end;

It doesn't look too much alike, so i will not condemn you on anything.
But in your function, you call ColorToHSL, yet you don't use InRange with HSL? That part is unnecessary. Also, you might want to at least change the names of the ddtmSubPoints, imo looks messy, MP for mainpoint and SP for subpoint looks cooler to me. By the way,
      dtmSubPoints[0].AreaSize := 0;
dtmSubPoints[0].AreaShape := 0;
Since your not using it you don't need to have it in the ddtm, same with tolerance if your not using it. It looks to me, like you just made the ddtms in ddtm editor then just copied and pasted everything into your script. There isn't anything wrong with it, but that part ^ is just redundant, doesn't matter though. Your script = Your choice ;)

The script looks overall good, you have an understanding of TPAs, but your attitude needs to be better, if you don't make it to SRL members then just keep posting and become even more active in the community, this way members will see your new and improved attitude!

Gonna have to vote 'No'.

That doesn't make any sense at all

I also see in your auto responder it replies 100% of the time… not a good idea there.

Also I see you have a repeating loop that never ends

repeat
Loop;
until(false);

The proggy looks very simple if you included multiplayer why have a proggy for single player?

edit -

Just noticed this problem

repeat
X := GetSkillInfo('Smithing', False);
until(X > 0);

What if you are in a random event where the skill gametab is gone? You will be repeating that forever.

In Walk, you should check if not logged in then Exit at the beginning of the function? You should move it to the top of the function. Also, you only FFlag on the fail safe, not on the original walk.. So if the script doesn't use the fail safe once, then it won't flag. It will just go onto the next walking.

Prog('full');
until(LoadsToGo = 0)or(not LoggedIn);

You guys were the ones that started all this flaming and I haven't really reacted at all… This just all formed by me saying "I hate those two sigs"… Then everyone decided to have a big, enormous spaz… I then started getting bad reps all saying "hahaha pwned you! suck dick blah blah blah" which were all removed by an Admin.

So hating something without telling someone why instantly gives you attitude problems… That must mean I have very, very bad attitude because I told DDD I didn't like his sigs and he had big cry over it… I swear everyone on this forum are acting like two year olds… This is so Fucking childish… This is something that happens daily on a yr3 playground.

OK. I really do not want to send this forum to much off topic, but I really think you need to take a look on your attitude again. You mentioned that 'So hating something without telling someone why instantly gives you attitude problems'? Thats not exactly it. It isn't nice, but it doesn't give you attitude problems. What gave you your attitude problems was when someone asked you to post why you hate it. Sure, he didn't say it very nicely, but that is because of the many other things you do. It pisses people off. You got your panties in a twist and fell. That just sent the whole thread about DDD's sigs into the dust, because people kept replying, and re-replying, and re-re-replying etc to the point where DDD requested the thread to be closed.

Also, if I remember correctly, DDD didn't cry. He just lost the little respect he already had for you. Also, just a little tip, don't say stuff like 'This is so Fucking childish…' on your application thread :hypocrite:. My suggestion to you is go grab a souther, a blankie, and your stuffed clown fish and curl up in the corner and cry like a little baby. We are not the one's being 'Fucking childish' as you say, you are.

Good luck next month.

Second, yes he did say he hated it. thats it exactly. he said he hated it, but didn't give any examples out to fix it. it just like voting. are you just going to post 'no' and not explain how to fix their script so they might get in next month?

Why do half the members have a problem with his attitude and half of them dont? Oh yeah, the ones who don't realise this is the internet so nothing can be taken seriously.

Guys, think what you will of newbiez, but voting no based on an opinion you have of someone is not very fair. Sure, if the decision someone is annoying is unanimous then go ahead. Newbiez has room to be 'arrogant' or whatever you call him about GFX is because he is good at it. The only time anyone thinks he has an attitude problem is when h replies on a GFX thread. Few people at SRL can give a good feedback on something. Newbiez' reply was taken way out of proportion. He said he hated it and everyone got up in his grille.

Take a step back and quit whining out of personal hate for newbiez guys. He's one of the most honest people @ SRL, be it some of you think its arogance and him being bigheaded. If you cant handle it dont reply to what he says. Simple.

Maybe only half of us can actually see what he is like?.

What is the attitude of the applicant? This is for me, and it should be for you too, the most important quality.

No the difference is that if he had the attitude like he does here in real life / on the street he'd have more than a "not fair" reply.

I stick to voting no simple due to his attitude to fellow members of this forum. He doesnt deserve it.

YoHoJo

2009-10-10 13:13:45

Well, based on his most current attitude (in this thread) he seems pretty cool and mature to me. Hes handling all of your guys' talk about his attitude maturely, giving examples, and explaining himself.
I see him more like American Idol's Simon Cowell or America's Got Talent's Piers Morgan. Hes an old, straight forward, straight to the point, angry British guy. 1/2 of the audience may get sad, angry, and say "Booo" when they say a contestant isn't good, but everyone knows deep down that what they are saying is true, and just more straight forward that other people, because that's they way they talk.

Anyways…
I still dont think your script is up to my HIGH standards of letting people into SRL members (but that's just because I'm way too picky), but its super duper close. I know that making GFX takes A LOT of TIME and PATIENCE and so does scripting, and if apply that same time and patience to your scripting, I know that you will easily become a great and amazing scripter, so my vote for you, is a YES.

And no, 'what h is really like' is a subjective statement. Some people blow shit way out of the water, such as DDD did when I posted 'No..' on some random GFX thread, and later on XRaye commented saying 'I didnt see anything wrong with ToF's post'

Its all about Drama. Some people HUNGER it. Some people are too immature to see that thats ones opinion so should be respected. It seems obvious to me rogeruk and anyone else who flames myself or newbiez. Serious, you just lack respect for somones opinion so attack them for it. You may not agree with it, but others do, so you cant call something invalid or harsh or flame or whatever, because it simply isnt true. Like YoHoJo said, just because you are too polite to say what newbiez said, you know you know its true.

I cant be bothered to trouble myself with this stupid drama and blatant personal attacks on newbiez, or more recently myself.

Well, seeing so many people voting simply based on attitude makes me want to actually review the script. I'll only be commenting on things that I feel you're either doing wrong, or doing well on, I won't be commenting on every single function. Anyway, here goes:

First: It compiles. That's good. I have a habit of voting "no" on scripts that don't compile, because that would have meant you didn't check it before submitting. Especially since you were already taken to task about that in your first submission. No points either way.

Second: Your global variables. Although they work as you have them, it would probably be better if that data was stored in the Player array, so you could tell the player how many loads/bars each individual account has done. No points either way.

Third: In your prog procedure, you have a single-case case statement. Since you are only interested if the string equals 'full', then instead of a case, you should really use this:

if what = 'full' then
begin
WriteLn('');
WriteLn('Newbiz Smither East Fally ');
WriteLn('');
WriteLn('Ran For '+ TimeRunning);
If Bars > 0 then
WriteLn('Bars Made : '+IntToStr(Bars));
If Loads > 0 then
WriteLn('Loads done ' + IntToStr(Loads));
if X > 0 then
WriteLn('X');
WriteLn('');
WriteLn('----------------------------');
WriteLn('----------------------------');
end;
Very slight minus.

Fourth: In your FindOre, you have an unneeded begin..end surrounding your case statement. Also, FindOre is misnamed, as it does not find the ore, but merely creates a DTM. Very slight minus.

Fifth: In FallyRdColor, you're giving FindFallyRoadColor two chances to fail. You shouldn't do that. Instead, try something like this:
function FallyRdColor: Integer;
begin
Result := FindFallyRoadColor;
if Result = 0 then
Result := FallyRRDColor;
end;
Slight minus.

Sixth: WalkDTM actually uses a DDTM dynamically. Plus.

Seventh: In your Walk procedure, you don't properly free your DTMs. Big minus.

Eighth: You're missing a semicolon on the last line of your PosArray function. Slight minus.

Ninth:

repeat
X := GetSkillInfo('Smithing', False);
until(X > 0);
This is a possible infinite loop. However, since it will almost never trigger as an infinite loop, it's not so bad. You should still probably fix it. Small minus.

I kinda ran out of steam at this point, so I just glanced at the rest. Nothing jumped out at me as really right, or really wrong, so I'll just wrap up with this:
Better luck next time. Your script this time seemed to be a rather average script riddled with a bunch of small mistakes. I'm going to have to vote no.

Why do people always say "It doesn't even compile!"? It's not about compiling? It's about the applications scripting abilities and his attitude. If it doesn't compile = lack of scripting skills, but what if it was an easy-fix problem like adding IntToStr() to the script?
Really, some of you should take a look before you vote. Even if the script doesn't compile it might be some awesome functions inside the script.

Voting no because a script doesnt compile is (sorry) complete bullshit IMO.
Lets say im Wizzup or Tarajunky or RastaMagician or someone leet.
I work hard on my script, tweak it a lot, work on it, comment stuff out, have a bunch of 'test procedures' in my script ect ect. Maybe i upload my latest version, which is buggy due to test stuff and whatnot in the script, and WHAT DO YOU KNOW IT DOESN'T COMPILE!?
Are you saying you wouldn't vote yes on Wizzup/Tarajunky/RastaMagicians (insert your favorite scripter here) godly code merely because it didnt compile?! Then you crazy!

The point of "Showing an example of your work" isn't like releasing a script to public. The point of showing work is to see someones scripting skills, what they know, how creative they are, ect ect.

Just because something doesn't compile doesn't mean its bad, or not SRL Member Worthy. You need to look at the CODE ITSELF. Just checking if it compiles and voting no is straight up ignant!

Not making sure the code compiles shows a lack of effort. You wouldn't turn in an essay with a bunch of spelling and grammar errors just like you shouldn't submit a script that hasn't been checked over for issues like compiling errors.

The dev svn isn't public, though. You guys probably constantly revise it to get it up to par (like I mentioned in my response to YoHoJo's post). An application is someone's public display of what they can do. Often times it may be the first impression they have on someone, which makes it even more important to ensure that everything is fixed up and ready to go.

Just because a renowned author has a few spelling mistaking in his book makes him/her a crappy author?

My point was, big deal if it doesn't compile, look at the "good-ness" of the code as a whole, not weather it compiles. Its easy cake to fix a few compiling errors and DEFIANTLY not a reason to vote no.

If it's really "easy as cake" to fix the errors, then why wouldn't they have done so in the first place? I'm not going to vote no just because a script doesn't compile (I know that's what my previous post made it sound like), but I'll definitely be less forgiving of other errors.

I look for attitude more than scripting ability. If they have a amazing attitude, but a meh script it means that they would learn more. While he does have a good script hes not 100% ready for members.

Someone could just be a kissass nice guy and fail at scripting to get in, and then after that be a complete leech (80% of SRL Members :p). And just because he's a very straight forward speak your mind kind of guy doesn't mean that after he's in hell not want to learn anymore, they two (attitude and willingness to script) don't have much to do with each other (in this case).

Were all taking about things directly related to the applications/votes.
And anyways its extremely hard/impossible ot change someones views on something as controversial as this, so lets just stop all of the debating and get back to just voting and posting why we did so.

The thread won't be closed until a decision has been made. The poll, on the other hand, will close after a certain amount of time and prevent any new votes.

I am sorry, although I disagree, most no votes were based on your 'attitude', not on a lac of scripting ablity, therefore, I can not let you in.

You may try again in 3 weeks.
