First of all, What do i wear to the interview, like im a kid i dont got like buisnessy clothes. Only my school uniform is a full suit but im on holidays now. Wouldnt that look silly?
Secondly if i get an interview what would they ask and like what are some good interview tips?
Pretty much i needa know everything for a nice interview :).
Oh btw, my brother works in the same shop so hopefully that means a better chance.

Just wear something you don't look like a junkie or a hobo a nice shirt clean not dirty.
They might ask questions on a situation.
Don't think about a small business. Think big (they can throw things away ) and think if someone complains get a manager don't handle it yourself

Don't where business to a Coles interview and definately do not wear school uniform during the school holidays :p Just wear a nice clean tshirt and long trousers, even denim. Don't look all messy with ripped jeans and shirt. Don't have your hair all messy either.
For the interview you get asked about what you do, when you're available, how easy is it for you to get to work… basically they want to know how much they can use you and how easy it is to get you in on short notice (which they will want to all the time). Also seem interested in the job. According to your job title you'll be on checkout but they'll probably want you working in dairy or grocery from time to time. Ask them about working in other departments. That shows you're versatile and they'll want to hire you more.
Thirdly, having your brother already working there is a big advantage. If he's at all popular at work the manager will be more inclined to hire you. Then again if he's a tool, then maybe not :p

Wear a dress shirt if you have one, like a casual one. Maybe nice pants. Just make yourself presentable.
Always answer questions honestly, don't be afraid, they aren't there to shut you down.

You'll be working on checkouts mate, wouldnt be too worried about the interview haha.
I got a job recently as a Sales Assistant and I turned up in a suit (:P, I doubt I had to to be honest), interview took 3 minutes, went home, got rung 20 minutes later and got the job.
Be yourself, its the best way. They will actually know who you really are. Dont worry about it to be honest. Isnt the end of the world if you dont get it, either.

What buckley said, especially somewhere like coles you don't want to overdress. Nice jeans (no rips, no patches, no print logo/text everywhere etc) and a nice polo shirt will always set a good impression.
As for questions they will ask junk like:
Why do you want to work for us?
Then ask work relevant questions (Like in Canada Coles is a book store so I'm assumnig is the same in AU, so they would prolly ask if you can read ;) )

Hmm. Polo/ButtonUp Shirt, id say slacks, but i guess jeans are ok too.
As for the interview, just google 'common interview questions'
But don't prepare too much (or at all!), relax, be yourself, and answer questions honestly.
I mean once you've got the interview you pretty much have the job, just show them your a nice cool guy.
Here are some lifehacker links that should help:
http://lifehacker.com/195990/the-top-50-common-interview-questionshttp://lifehacker.com/244769/how-to-ace-a-job-interview(And there's a lot more there if you do a search)
But like I said dont stress it!
Good Luck!
And lcuky guy, ive applied to 8+ places and not a word back yet! (Crappy American Economy!)
But I might snag a job at my dad's friend's restaurant soon sweet hookups!

get the nicest shirt you have, that dosn't look to flashy. nice pants, maybe khaki, remember to look them in the eye, no gum, firm, but not hard, handshake, sit strait, make your hair look nice NEVER IN YOUR EYES, always look at your interviewer and not around the room, NEVER interrupt your interviewer, only speak when asked. This is the advice i give you, use it wisely young grasshopper. :hypocrite:

You should always use proper English. Never use slang words, contractions, etc. So say "cannot" rather than "can't" etc.

career services here adamantly suggest not wearing jeans to an interview, button up shirt and tie, with khakis. That's the norm, I wore it to all my high school job interviews for any employer and I had 2 jobs in high school. imo jeans are too casual, even nice jeans.

This is what I wore to my first interview:

It did not go well.
[ot]Just wear clothes you wear(wore) to school, just nothing with holes in it.

Be prepared to answer some weird questions. I don't know how it works over there, but I've heard some really weird stories about questions that they as you that sound idiotic and obvious. Just be yourself, and take the questions seriously.
They'll probably ask you some questions pertaining to your life such as "Have you ever been involved in any form of teamwork in your life?" or "Explain a situation or problem which you've overcome either by yourself or as a team.". Things like that are questions that I personally hate, but it gives the employer an idea of what you're like as a person.
Just relax and be honest. You'll be fine! ;)

You could always get a friend to go in right before you & do a terrible interview/dress badly, then you would go in right after them and look awesome ;). Sort of like if/when theres a hot girl walking next to an ugly one and you see the differences a lot more (there are ppl who actually do that)..

I'm quite surprised people here that reside in countries other than Australia know what Coles is :p Or maybe they just Google'd it
Anyways, where a tuxedo, have your hair spiked, where some spiked gloves, always talk over the top of the interviewer and tell them how good your are at soccer and how many hundred or so girlfriends you have had, as well as how many marijuana smokes you have a minute.
Follow my advice and i'm sure you'd go just fine :D
