There was this site I came across that offered the Linux OS for 1st and 3rd gen Ipods + some other specific ones. I thought this was kinda cool, getting myself a very tiny, portable computer. But, because my "Ipod" is not one made by apple, i can't use or install this.

this is the site.

I have an "Ipod", it's made by a company called Onda a 8G touchscreen that fails when compaired with Apple's Ipod, though much cheaper.

Edit: Should be moved to Game Consoles

Rockboooox!
I used RockBox too, on my iRiver.
.. which for now is broken, but I had tons of fun with it when it worked.

Now I only have a 2G iPod nano, and last time I checked, iPoxLinux wasn't able to do anything with it, because the firmware on the iPod was encrypted.
(Nobody else could either, for the record.)

Anybody care to tell me if they've got something working for the 2G nano now?
They've even changed their layout now and all..

It's just another firmware which adds functionality to MP3 players.
As Wizz said, more info can be found at www.rockbbox.org.
