Archiving outdated scripts?

Hi.

As we all know there are tons of scripts that are outdated and will never be fixed. I think we should archive all the outdated scripts and remove them from the forums.

We could have a list of all potentially outdated scripts, and then ppl could test them and tell wheter they work or not.

This wouldn't be a real project, because people could just try some script they might find useful, not going through every single script on FFA.

On the otherhand, we could lure some fame-seeking juniors to this task by having a competition:
Test as many scripts as you can in X weeks. Whoever tried most scripts will be rewarded with a Testers cup. You must prove you have tested every script by copying debug text or something.

Any thoughts?

EDIT: Now that I think of it, all categories do need a cleansing. I don't mean to delete good ol' things, but to archive them so that they wouldn't disturb users, especially new users.

I think they should not be removed for history's sake, and if the maker ever comes back to fix it up. We should see when the last edit was of the original post was (assuming they put the script in the thread, and don't use and inscript updater), if it is over 2-3 weeks and it is outdated, then we temporarily move it to an outdated section. But to remove it from SRL might get people who go inactive mad to see their script has suddenly gone missing.

Yea that's why I said archive, not delete.
And I'm talking about at least 6 months old scripts.

Yeah, a outdated or archive section for those scripts here would be better then removing. EDIT: Kinda ninjad me.
Also I am against that competition. 90% of the scripts(from the maybe-outdated-scripts) are clearly outdated, means no need to test them. And if I were a competitor Jr. I would try out those too. So maybe remove most of them first and then have a competition?

Agreed, a new section of Outdated Scripts / Non-Working Scripts would be handy. Script section should only contain updated and working scripts.

Yeah I think this would be a great idea, would especially help the newer members to the forum and make it easier.

But who would be up for the challenge of moving all those threads ;P.

I believe it is easy enough to tell which scripts are outdated and which are not, making this unnecessary effort.

But I think it's frustrating to go through 10 powerminers until you find a working one
