Infractions?

How should I use them?

I will edit this post with a couple links to threads to read about them, but it is generally to your discretion.

If you see a registered user who just made 10 posts in a hour saying "nice script/tutorial!!", then you could give them an infraction for spamming into Jr. members (which means a temp ban too). Different infractions have different points. 3 points = temp ban (for anything less than SRL members), 6 = perma ban.

If somebody plagiarizes a script to try to obtain SRL membership status, you can give them an infraction for plagiarism.

If somebody very rudely flames somebody with little reason, you can give them an infraction or a warning.

…etc.

It really is to your discretion. You decide if something is infraction or warning worthy.

You can also view IP addresses when you go to Who's Online? And you can pretty much self moderate your own threads (move your thread if you post in the wrong section, open/close it, add a poll if you forgot to when making it…etc.)

Edit:

http://www.villavu.com/forum/showthread.php?t=19275 - although the closing/opening other people's threads was removed a long time ago.

A few good threads to read up on.

If you don't yet feel comfortable giving out infractions/warnings, then you are not required to.

If you have any more questions, you can post here.

Also, add up my msn: runescapemacro@hotmail.com haven't talked to you much. Would love to get to know you better :)

No longer an option. Sorry guys.

Aww, that was actually useful for setting IRC bans when needed (and for figuring out who's trolling when they don't use proper nicks)

Yeah, I found it useful also. :(

This must have happened very recently, because I swear I was looking at IP's yesterday.

Doesn't really matter though. I never found it too useful since we couldn't check if an IP matched different accounts or anything.

Must be dev power. SSRL used to be able to view it through there but not any more.

I've never been able to see that, but the Users Online list had always shown IPs until RM removed that feature for us.

Oh ok. Probably not the right place for it but since the thread is here why was it changed anyway, and without any discussion (unless I missed it)? Seems to be a pretty random thing to just remove, lol.

I think it is Dev, but I can't see the IP button ANYWHERE.

We never could see an IP button next to the infractions buttons, just in the Who's Online.
