(Name may be subject to change :p)
Well, I have decided to make a game for the Android G1.
This may be a little like the runescape developer blogs, where I mention problems I have to overcome and what goes into making it.
The game name as you can see from the title is - "Bowman - Eye of the Arrow"
The objective of a typical bowman game is that there are 2 bowmen, one at each end of the screen. At the start of the game, they are a random distance apart. Player 1 goes first and clicks a distance arrow will show, and click again to get the right distance, then you would click again to get a power bar.
The way a player wins is to kill the other person. Usually its 2 head shots or 3 body shots.
1.0 (initial version)*: Single player*, start game, maybe start a story mode, or it may be quick play.
Using the phones accelerometer, you tilt the phone in an angle and pull back on the screen, (with your finger in a sliding motion), this will be your power**. Then it will either wait for you to look at the phone and select a continue button that will show a arrow going through the air and missing/hitting the target, or it will just popup a zoomable map with the location of an arrow with a trail mark.
Just like stated earlier 2 head shots or 3 body shots is a kill.
2.0 (multiplayer support/Control Support)*: Adds support for 2 players*, and maybe co-op modes. Same setup as before, but player passes phone to next player for there turn. Also, players will have different options on how to control their character.
Bug Fixes
3.0 (Online Play)*: Adds support for multiplayer online play. Play with 2 players.* (Possibly more).
Bug Fixes
*: may be subject to change.
**: I have several ideas for power indicators, this is my primary one.
I also have decided that the 1.0 release will only be a single player release, unless I can easily implement the ability to switch as the other player (which as I think about it, shouldn't be that hard.)
First Things First.
First, I will have to make a GUI.
A gui is a graphics user interface, so its easy for the user to navigate the program.
My gui at startup will consist of a play game button, and a exit button. (For my testing purposes, more features/look will be implemented later.)
Lucky me, I have a GUI maker so I can drag all my icons buttons and textviews to where I want them in my program.
After this, I will set up my program to get the accelerometers degrees and make a collaborator program, which will be implemented into my API later.
This should keep me busy today, I will try to keep you up to date.
