Hardstyle?

Judging by the other threads in here, it seems as if almost everyone here is stuck in the "imma listen to and buy/pirate what I'm told the big pop/rock/metal/rap bands/artists are" mindset, so I figured I'd at least try to expand it slightly ;)

This is Hardstyle, it's softer brothers is Jumpstyle and Techstyle, and it's harder, more evil brothers are Hardcore and it's various subsets (Terror, Frenchcore, Speedcore, Noize, etc.)

Now I'm not a DJ or anything, but I am planning on saving up for a pair of DN-S3700s (pic). Until then, I'll be mixing with software :). Here's two mixes I've put together so far, and I hope they show the genre fairly well.

Does anyone else here listen to much of it or anything similar? I'd also be interested to know what you think about it if you haven't heard it before :D

lol, almost everyone? I think not. Then again, i think your music kinda mimic that of typical pop dance songs (though it may be the other way around but they're still similar). which bands would be big metal bands? Unless we're calling completely unmetally bands like killswitch engage metal, then i dont know what we're talking about.

i listen to hardstyle, but thats kuz I like the melbourne shuffle (if you dont know it google it). Its pretty sweet, but can get annoying if you listen to too much of it I think.

I listen to what I think sounds awesome. A lot of people would hate some of the stuff I listen to.

There's always someone who doesn't like some kind of music.

The very first song in my second mix is by them, and it's one of my favorites :D

What do you listen to then? This and Dubstep are the most mainstream things I listen to :P. Lately I've been liking Freeform, Makina, Happy/UK Hardcore, Darkstep, Eurodance, and just a sprinkling of gritty Electrohouse. I've given up almost completely on Rock and its hundreds of variants because of how repetitive everything related to it is, and how the instruments and melodies never sound much different from eachother.

Me too. And yet, i didnt listen to the whole of your song, but it sounded similar. I quite like chiptune stuff thats good. And melodic and progressive and many other types of metal that indeed are not repetitive at all.

Not trying to be mean, but the whole thing was a blend of bumping bass with some random parts mixed in. I listened to the whole thing.

That's pretty much what it is, though you didn't have to listen to it if you didn't like it :p. This isn't exactly something if you're trying to philosophize. But then again, most music isn't (psytrance with LSD maybe?). This is more of a mood setter that (for most people) simply makes you feel awesome, drugs or not.

Actually, all of the songs I get are torrents put together from the FearFM top 40s :D. Only problem with them though is there isn't enough Hardcore coming out for them to rotate everything out each month =\
