The Open SCAR project

Mission: To recreate SCAR with improved speed and better functionality fully compatible with SCAR and SRL and become a drop in replacement for SCAR.

Feaures: This project will provide support for:
- Multi threading
- Much faster than SCAR.
- Easier scripting environment.

License: I hope to make this a semi-open source project but will easily change that if people don't want it to be.

Language: The project will be created using Delphi.

This project is pretty large and can not be completed by me alone. I need other people to be a part of it and form as a team. If you are interested in this project, good with the Pascal programming language and want to help out the community, please PM me or post on this thread. I would greatly appreciate it if people were interested in this project as I am taking this seriously.

@ Kaitnieks/Freddy1990: If Kaitnieks/Freddy1990 would even consider trusting me with the SCAR source code, I would gladly help put in multi threading in even without credit. All I want to do is help contribute to the community and make SCAR better for everyone.

You would need the source to do that, unless you started from scratch.. Also SCAR is copyright, and Kaitnieks would have to approve of you using the code if you de-compiled SCAR. If it was open-source it would be easier to sell on E-bay and stuff.. Also, people could add key loggers and stuff, which would be frowned upon.

True, I'd like to run it on Linux. But what I'm thinking is to make something from scratch. Kaitnieks or what's his face, he'll have nothing to do with it. Just Open SCAR and SRL. Lol, decompile it, great idea, but I bet the code is too hard to work with since it's very high level stuff. There are not too many vector calculations or algorithms going on to decompile. The output will probably be of little use. None the less, I'll give it a go.

Or, we could make it closed source to only SRL members or something.

Edit: and how do you become an SRL dev?

Yeah, good idea, but getting the pascal interpreter to work in Java is going to be hard. Just look at iSCAR for iBot. They haven't even gotten down the language basics yet, I presume. Either Lazarus/Delphi will be easier. And with Lazarus, i can run on Linux too.

It would be stupid to write a pascal interpreter in Java when you could easily write a program to convert SCAR scripts into java sourcecode and then compile it. If ruler was smart this is what he would do.

As for iscar, we are making very good progress.

We are getting no help from anyone in this community. The SRL devs seem more determined to make scar bettter and/or work for sythe on his project.

All the people that have access to scar source wont even give out the compression library name it uses.

By a act of god we got a break, Ace from Cruels.net has informed me that scar uses ZLIB for compression.

As for the pascal interpreter in Java, it was not done by us. It is only a matter of attaching methods to ibot methods for it to work. Once dtm and bitmaptostring work, only .dll's will be left. The lanuage is done, and is much more advance, however no one has attached the methods.

As of now supporting scar scripts is not a goal, more interested in porting the logic.

As for a new scar, i am interested to see its performance.

Yeah, I looked a bit into that a while ago. And I be exact, I think it uses zlib v1.2.3
http://www.dellapasqua.com/delphizlib/

lol… thanks to ppl saving versions as constants… :D
I never looked into exactly how it was used however. :P But that may be easier to figure.

And ya, writing a SCAR clone would be easiest in Delphi.
But as far as simply being able to run SCAR scripts, it's your language of choice as long as you can find a good pascal interpreter for it.

Exclude SCAR from filename please, SCAR is copyrighted to kaitnieks, and only HE can use that name ;-)

THERE WILL BE ONLY ONE SCAR! ONE AND ONLY! Creating copies will be stupid, rather ask kaitnieks to hand out source to someone qualified to continue with SCAR's development…

AFAIK, SCAR is written in delphi, so recreating same would be easy in delphi as it's been proven to work ;-)

1) I don't give a crap about the name because technically, it's all just pixels, if I change the font, done, it's unique. The pixels could be interpreted however you like. If you interpret them in such a way, it is your fault. Beat that.

2) Would you use it if my version had multiprocessing/multithreading? Multithreading is awesome because there could be a whole different thread just for antirandoms. Pwnt pl0x?

3) I know, what's his face would never trust me with the SCAR source code because he does not know me and there is no point even trying asking him for the code. Even if I wanted to help, I know the answer, he wouldn't let me even see it.

4) Why would I attempt to make a clone of SCAR? Simple, it doesn't work for me. (Well, it works, but it could seriously be improved).

The Robot class would function just like SCAR, moving the mouse and keyboard and such. But it would also give us the great ability to have a 100% undetectable, fully functioning 'silent mouse' by creating fake events, you could use the input package from Cherokee

solarwind

2007-01-21 17:25:45

Yeah, iBot is using methods from the epascal package. epascal is a pascal interpreter written in Java. Lol, writing an interpreter takes a lot of time. One thing though, in SCAR, I wonder how the interpreter works. Is it a full fledged interpreter? Or is it it's own interpreter made in Delphi?

Damn, I really want multi threading.

Alright, I decided I'm going to use Delphi (not Lazarus because it is too early in development stage) to attempt to design a clone of SCAR. I'm doing this for one and only one purpose: To improve on SCAR's already wonderful features for the SRL community. For example, a big reason for me to attempt make one is to support multi threading. I've seen iBot's potential for multi threading. It's just awesome, but I want to make something for the people who like the Pascal language and for the people who like/want to stick with SRL.

Here I go. This project may never be finished/released. It's a try, I hope to make it a damn good try.

Edit: Where do you get the latest Delphi full version? The links on Cruel's are dead.

Lol, a lot of useful stuff. The first thing is multi threading. The next thing I'll try to improve speed/B]. With multi threading, you'll be able to do stuff you never thought possible. For example, you could devote an entire thread just for finding randoms and never have to worry about that in your script again! Another thing is having one thread move the mouse and the other thread find colours/stuff.

Scarscape, it is highly detectable and he charges way too much for 5 minutes of programming.

Cherokee is an automation system I wrote that works on any java applets, you simply have to write 2 classes to get it to work on any applet.

Not being able to post events to more than 1 applet in the same jvm is not a flaw, and the static event generation methods are independent of that. If you really want to send events to more than one applet It is a matter of changing about 6 lines of code.

I know a lot of people appreciate pascal as a language and therefore like SCAR. I want to make something that has some more much needed features in it. And by the way, SCAR would never have been created if it were not for the guy who invented Pascal. Everyone starts somewhere.

ALGOL -> Delphi (RAD) -> Pascal -> SCAR -> SRL -> SRL Scripts

Hey Mopar, thansk for posting. There is another one of Borland's products called Kylix (outdated and discontinued). It is supposed to be based on Delphi but works with Linux and windows. I'll see what I can do with that. Thanks for pointing that out.

Edit: Kylix is useless for our purpose.

I'll also look into your Cherokee project. It seems interesting.

And if I may be delivering a wrong impression of myself, here is the correction:
