To summarise my post before you read it (as it is long), it's a weekly competition that gives away points for a league table. It has problems with mathematical or logical roots. Posting here to see if anyone has any suggestions as to aspects which could be improved or if they want to help organise and run it.
Now, on with the post!
Some may remember a little league table and competition-like event I ran a while back with various forms of encryption and hashing with bizarre and often terrible clues as to which Method I used and tips on what the answer was sometimes. I also remember how it had (a little) success despite being poorly run, organised and a lot more.
So, I felt like I should possibly revive it with a more general theme, which is various maths and logic stuff.
I was thinking a weekly problem, with there being a low level and high level problem to attract both the beginners and the experts. Like before, there would be points for the first one submitted and points for the fastest one. If large number of entrees, then the points will be adjusted and given to top x people. The points would then be added to the league table (just the one, with the easier problems giving less points to encourage people to push themselves).
There would be no prize like before, unless someone contributed it themselves or it became popular enough that a Competition winners cup would be a possibility. I was impressed at how people took up the challenge before because of either competitive nature or because they wanted to do it for fun and I think it will come through again even without a prize.
I would be more than happy to run it, generate problems, check scripts and the like myself, but if anyone wants to take over a part of it, then I would be more than happy to share the responsibilities (unless I don't like you).
Lastly, wanting to know if there are any suggestions as to areas which are unclear, seem silly or anything else. I know that I often form ideas in my head, but lose some of the key points when typing up, so I could have easily not put something important in :)
Thank you for reading this far - if you have, please start your post with the letter "q" so I know you did indeed read it all and so can value your contributions more
