cbf typing them all out but I prefer AMD. Intel is pretty good tho

my eeepc has an intel atom 1.6ghz and my desktop has an amd dual core 2.6ghz overclocked to 2.9ghz. Both of them work very good

6 gig ram ah god.

That computer seems epic, from what I understand from it :). Nice.

Fail. There both good, but Intel is apparently better.

Intel can do some calculations AMD can't do.

Intel usually has a faster clock speed then AMD but AMD was better in games I believe.

That's a nice build regardless.

AMD is better than Intel in terms of stability and Graphic Processing and it is also cheaper. If you look at System Requirements of some games then for AMD you would need a lower clock rate to run a game than INTEL. So it depends if you want to play a lot of games or you are a Graphic Designer I think you should buy AMD rather than INTEL. I don't know what benefits you would have in an INTEL processor.

He's going to fry his power supply the moment he tries to play a game, its not powerful enough.

the i7 alone wants minimum 145w
then the graphics card will want 450-475 minimum

He should get a 650W at the very least.

Thats true.

As soon as that game starts and you jump to max clock and gpu clock..

I agree, the psu is too small, and I think the lcd was too expensive.

Solid stats though, good luck to him.

I agree, I'm sure you can find a 21.5" for lower than 195.
All of the parts are kind of expensive, I only paid $90 for my corsair 800W (it was on sale for $150 off though =/ )

But I think if you and your friend are patient you can find much better deals.
