SRL Archive - SRL Merchanting

The market is at one of those weird points where almost every item is at a peak.
I usually do a lot of selling here but not much buying until things flatten out.
So it is a little harder to find an item you don't have to wait for.
Most people seemed to want f2p, so I'll give some f2p suggestions.

Item: Uncut diamond

Dump Price: 12k
Reasons: f2p and members both need this item. Diamond bolts (e) and power amulets are very commonly made. We could start this one right away.

Item: Limpwrut root

Current Price: Minimum price: 1,406 Market price: 1,480 Maximum price: 1,554
Dump Price: wait until these are about 1.3k and get them to around 2k
Reasons: Strength potions are a good way to get up herblore for members and are used for f2p pking.

Dump Price: 700
Reasons: This is basically the only option for f2p players getting up their prayer and is also still used by members. If they want prayer, they will pay the price. These are also starting a small rise right now that should last maybe a couple more days, which is the best time to start buying.

i like those too the big bones are too easy to get imo

did you check the 180 days on big bones? I think big bones and limpwurts are a definite no. Uncut diamond is also a little high. Both the limpwurt and diamond were at one price, rose a lot, then barely dropped and flattened out a tiny bit, I think both are bout to drop a lot more. And big bones, yea, they are way over priced right now, don't think they're a good item.

Reasons: They just dropped, and are reasonably low for their 180 day history. People use them all the time in PvP and lose them and need more. And cause I said so ;).

If Rune Crossbow F2P or P2P? Also, I like the look of the RCB chart on 180.

yea it'd be a very good choice, but only thing is that it requires P2P, didn't even think of that until now. Hopefully most SRL merchers have members, this would be a very good item to do.

EDIT: Oh, PM = price manipulation, M=merch. It's in one of rogeruk's threads. It's stickified.

I think we should all keep an eye on the price on onyxs, as the demand for furys, berserkers, and other onyx items should go up. While the supply is going to be somewhat less.

All 3 of these are up high when looking at their 180 day graphs but not when looking at their 30 or 90.
180 days is half of a year and a lot of stuff happens, so I wouldn't look at it like that.
Look at almost any item though.
That has been the trend for a while, and you can tell none of these items are about to drop off though.
Limp roots should be dropping but I mentioned we would have to wait on these.

I don't know about rcbows though.
They just got merched and they are about to fall again.

Plus, since it's really cheap, dropped a lot and is dropping again after going for max last night, we can get them for cheaper, they won't drop for long, we should buy them now while we can. I think we should also have a P2P item and F2P item.

well F2P would all invest in the F2P item, and then P2P would have a choice which to buy. And I think there are some Members who have enough money to influence it almost all on their own after seeing how much money some people have :p. But it's just an idea, we don't have to, but I think we should consider it, but it all depends on how much money everyone invests, can't really tell by the number of people.

If we want to be successful, or at least at our full potential, we need one item at a time.

Well then we should alternate between P2P and F2P items to be fair, because doing P2P won't be fair to F2P and doing all F2P items aren't as good as P2P. I was thinking that also almost, but I think we could manage to possible pull off two. But whatever, doesn't matter much to me.

If you look hard enough, there are items for F2P. Your talking about going from 100% to less than 50%. I personally use 25mil on my main, because I don't wanna spend $5 on an increase in pixels, if that in the long run.

How about everyone posting how much they can invest and is it f2p or p2p?
I got 13m f2p and 0p2p

antti, we should make 2 voting threads for that, to get an overview (one for p2p, one for f2p).

Options could be like

1m ,2m….10m.. more than 10m… more than 50 m…. more than 100m..

this way we would get a good overview about our potential ;).

Hmm I like that idea to get an idea of what we're working with.
We would have to get everyone to vote though.

Problem is estimating how much you have for merchanting. Eg, If most of you are scripters then you need money to make new scripts eg.. for buying tons of trout to make a cooker.. tons of logs for a firemaker etc..

How much money we got not gonna really effect on what we are buying unless its members like a 1.5M item. Its more of how many people will buy. If they want to invest all their cash they can, if they want to invest little then they will.

I think the best item suggested is Uncut diamond
