SRL Archive - Black Market Staff

Okay so since there is not a single thread dedicated to solving this issue and they are all just kinda off hand discussions in the middle of threads for other things this will be the one were we get a final group decision on how we are going to do this.

Option one:

• 2 Usergroup - Accept Market / Banned Market
• Autopromotion - Make everyone into accepted who are SRL Mem +
• You have to try to override the autopromotion when you try to ban someone (This isn't always easy, I know we had a lot of trouble with it for months when we introduced JR Members)

Option Two:

• 1 Usergroup - Banned Market
• SRL Members+ have default viewing access as part of their user rank
• On the rare occasion of someone being banned we just alter their access masks to deny
• No fighting with stupid automated systems for something you won't have to do very often

Option Three:

i dont really like the access masks thingy. You seem to make it sound more reasonable by saying it's rare, but it's rare for both cases >.>

I set up the promotion. We let it take effect. Take it off in a few days.

Then, each time we promote someone to SRL Members, we also add "Black Market - Accepted" as one of their usergroups. It's one of the first to show up on the list, shouldn't be hard to remember.

Avoids all trouble.

The exception to this is SSRL, but then again, I hope we'll never need to ban an SSRL from market. In the unlikely event that we ever need to do it, i guess they'd either be demoted from SSRL or we could manually add each SSRL to the Black Market - Accepted group. As i say, i find it extremely unlikely.
