Little Petal
Starry night
Odd
Little petal upon the flower,
Ever wilting by the hour.
Why must beauty fade so quick,
As upon the weak time does pick.
Little star sparkling bright,
Out shone upon the end of night.
Why must beauty fade so quick,
As upon the weak time does pick.
Little human of limited years,
Burdened by all life's fears.
At least your beauty is forever,
Something for time to remember.
Starry night
Sometimes I quietly stare at the stars,
Losing myself in insignificance.
Questioning if there's aliens on Mars,
With no thoughts being a hindrance.
Imagination fueling pondering,
Even the sound of cars do add to it.
Fact and fiction further my wondering,
About the sky that the stars have now lit.
So if the way to the soul is the eyes,
Let stars be the way to the universe.
For both can not hide any surprise,
From which open minds cannot emerse.
Alas, the stars vanish, as eyes can close,
But at least their wisdom can sooth our woes.
Odd
If I were to describe you in a word,
It would have to be odd.
If I could have two words,
It would have to be wonderfully odd.
I love how you weirdly take pride in your plants.
I love how your hair tickles my nose in a peculiar way,
I love how you get that unusual dimple when you smile,
I love how you have the most strange sense of humour,
I truly love how wonderfully odd you may be,
But most of all I love the wonderful feeling you give me
