With your Ore finding procedures, why do you write a new procedure for EVERY find ore. You need to use a case. Seriously. Use a case.

1. Technique (**/100)

– No cases or failsafes
– Poor use of DDTM

2. Individuality (**/100)

- Nothing special.

3. Follow all SRL rules (**/100)

– No failsafes.
+ Free's DTM

4. Creativity (**/100)

- Not much special
– Ore is declared with Integer, not string.

5. Efficiency (**/100)

- Nothing Notable.

6. Presentation (**/100)

+ A few comments
- No Strings, why not?
– No description or introduction
– Poor Progress Report.

7. Meeting all Requirements (**/100)

+ Does as far as i can see.

8. Added Extras (/100)

++ Banking
+ SMART

Total: **/800 = **.*%

From: Torrent of Flame
Technique: (**/100)
+ Good CharMoving procedure.
+ Good use of Records for the autoresponder.
- Lots of Global Variables, could easily be placed Locally.

Inidividuality: (**/100)
+ Functions are very well written, you know how to use the SRL include.
- I think you have the capability to write your own form, but you have used the SRL Player form, which I feel was a disappointment.
- Only one rock is avaliable to be mined, which is a disappointment too.

Follow all SRL Rules: (**/100)
- You dont free the DTM's or BMP's
- Bad use of Multi-player.

Creativity: (**/100)
– Only 1 Rock avaliable to mine!
- AntiBan not especially special.
+ Good CharMoving Procedure
++ Some procedures very well written.

Efficiency: (**/100)
- Can only mine one rock.
- Can lag due to no free DTM's etc.
- Can get stuck if your RadialWalk fails.

Presentation: (**/100)
- Could have made a nice intro.
- Ugly report.
+ Well Standardized.

Meeting all requirements: (**/100)
+ All requirements met.

Added extras: (**/100)
++ Good AutoResponder!

Total (**/800) = **.**%

Those are just two random posts of his on the competition judging. Also take into consideration his cups:

Wiki Writer, Judge Cup, tut writer, Old timer.

He has done a lot of good for this communitty, and although maybe not too many scripts, we have *mostly* all seen his webdesign and photoshop work before, and he also uses PHP in his webdesigns, meaning he is proficient in programing.

What do you guys think?

I haven't seen him do much since his last app except get the valued voter, and looking through his recent posts in the SRL members appliances section, I didn't see anything constructive/longer than a short paragraph.

He is mature enough, knows a lot about graphics and web stuff, been here a very long time, but not very active and not a very useful poster.

I'm still undecided.

I don't really like his attitude on IRC, and I haven't seen anything done on the forums to push me towards a yes, so I'm voting no.

No.

ZephyrsFury

Yes from me, he's mature and responsible most of the time. He definately knows when to be serious about things and when he can joke and have a good time.

I think I may just make it so that you are unable to vote, as you always vote no.

I will vote yes if somebody can give me one more good reason to vote yes than:

He is mature, knows a lot about graphics and web stuff, been here a very long time, helped with wiki.

Is perfectly well able of making decisions, helped with Junior Member Competition judging, is a good judge?

Is a really chill person?

It's just his activity that makes me reluctant to give him a yes.

Even though he has been here longer, why shouldn't somebody who is more active (Marpis, Nadeem, even Coh3n) be picked over him?

Slightly leaning towards a yes now though. Meh…

I guess what I meant by active was the lack of posts pertaining to anything partially related to forum topics, other than saying congrats to celebrations.

I've seen a higher number of useful posts from Harry :p

I would vote no because I really haven't ever noticed him for his scripting ability. I have only really noticed him a little in the graphics sections, which honestly his stuff isn't anything 'good'.

To me also he has also seemed a little bit antsy about things. I just wouldn't like to see him in here…

GoF

Yes from me. He's a good guy and been around SRL for quite a long time, and haven't seen him exactly break any rules or cause trouble. And it makes me wonder how I ever got in if scripting skill is such a huge factor (I haven't released a script in years). And as far as I know he's active on IRC (or he's usually online when I happen to get on IRC).

Exactly the problem I have with him. There are other mature candidates in SRL members who have actually been contributing to the community (longevity is the biggest problem with a lot of these people).

He's constantly helped with the JM script judging - marking every script, giving advice and scoring. He's also an official BM mod now so he'll be a bit more active in terms of posts. He's also not completely hopeless at scripting if that means anything, but I'd vote ToF in for his maturity, responsibility and respectability amongst the community.

Seeing as you always vote no, means your reasons are mostly negative. That (from a psychological point of view) makes you a negative/conservative person.
Question: you republican?

I don't see the need to bring political positions into this thread, Markus? I consider myself a conservative in many ways, yet I probably vote yes more than you do.

The term "conservative" associated with politics doesn't have much relation to it's actually meaning, which is "resistant to change". Ronald Reagan definitely was not resitant to change… Yet he was the most conservative person to ever be president.

I was just proving how you can't guess somebody's political stand point based on how they vote for SSRL members promotions… An off topic question requires a small off topic discussion to keep the thread on topic in the future.

Why the hell would you want a gun unless you want to kill people? You're saying if someone broke into your house, you'd just shoot them on the spot? Has anyone ever broken into your house before, have you ever been in a situation where you have said to yourself "damn I could do with a gun to kill that person right now"? You're livin' in a state of constant fear, bro.

With the vote count being so close, I think that we should give this one some time. Considering Tad's poll went on for 3 months with only 1 no, I don't think that this poll should get any different/special treatment.

ZephyrsFury

I think Tad's poll was more or less due to lack of active admins willing to promote.

Ok, but this poll is still very close. We have more than 16 people in SSRL+, who may want to vote once they get around to it. With close threads like these, I would really like to see a more full vote count since it is not a clear decision, but that's just me.

His 'Space Art' was not very good.

I was thinking like "omfg this is so fucked up, terrible use of photoshop, how can 3 images be blended in together SO SO BADLY" (I was really grumpy yesterday…)

I'm not very familiar with any of his other work though so I was not one to judge so I made no reply and just as well, will not vote on this. "D

It seems to be the main area he contributes to on the forums (graphics/photoshop). He doesn't help out in the scripting help section (at least from what I saw), he doesn't write RS scripts, so other than his attitude, that's all that can really be critiqued.
