He said he would buy my guide for $20.

I gave you 2 PIN's, both WORKED when I gave you them.

What TM has clearly NOT told you is that I NEVER EVER said if the pins would expire, and one HUGE factor is that he says he lives in England, which I thought could NOT change their country which they are 'calling' from?

Uh, no. PiNS are NOT country specific. They are only able to be used on that country screen, but anyone from any country can use them.

The Invalid Payment Window == that the pin expired, or you are choosing the wrong country. As TM chose Sweden, it must be the first.

@The Man - The logs you have can easily be edited to make them say what you want. Not saying you edited them or anything, but ToF is right, you need screenshots for sufficient evidence.

Also, there are only a couple Jr. Members here at SRL I would trust to begin with, so trusting Niix was your poor judgment to begin with. I agree that if what Niix did is true that he should be punished, but I don't think you have the proper evidence for him to be banned.

TL;DR thread, but as most likely stated before; wrong window aka. you need to put the pin in the correct country's correct window as in if the pin is bought from england you need to choose england as the country and then sms or pbp, whichever you bought, if it's bought from Finland you need to change the country from the dropbox to Finland and so on.

E: It'd say "incorrect pin" if it was expired or wasn't a pin, so you're just putting that in the wrong window.

Yes, but it'd be nice if someone could find out what those pins are for? NiiX gave him legit pins for something, and as far as I know NiiX feels like he got ripped off too (said the guide was like 2 lines stating something obvious, but that's not exactly scamming, it's just selling shit in a pretty package ).

In my experience:

Wrong Payment Window - Wrong country/Expired Pin (I think the time is 3 months?)/Used Pin
Invalid Pin - Fake Pin

My opinion on the situation…

1) The Man shouldn't have trusted NiiX to give him money after he gave him the guide. However he did. If the verdict is he was scammed, NiiX should be punished, regardless of whether or not he shouldn't have been trusted.
2) The Man shouldn't have taken the pins. By taking them he pretty much agreed that he wants pins instead of the money and therefore this couldn't be called a scam (however there is the issue of pins being fake/not working)
3) I don't exactly get how/when you tried those pins, but if you used them correctly (changed the country to NiiX's, used PBP/SMS depending on how he got it) within a month and it said Invalid Payment Window that means that someone used it, rendering this a scam on NiiX's part

As of what I've heard The Man was selling some ~1kb .txt for 20$, which really makes me dislike him alot, it's not cool in my opinion to ask money for stating the obvious, or I don't know how people would take it if I started selling "EPIC MAKE MILLIONS GUIDE! PERFECT STRATEGY 50€ ONLY!" and after I get paid I'll just send them a .txt with "buy rope from ned at draynor for 1gp and sell to other players for 2gp", and if someone didn't pay me for it I'd start huge drama and whinefest..

In which case, they were NOT expired, and should not be expired until another 3.5 months from now. Leaving us with the last situation - the pins were used by the time The Man tried to redeem them.

Another possible scenario is that The Man and N1ke both used them incorrectly, though that seems extremely unlikely.


EDIT: Another 5.5 months if 06/08 means August 6, not June 8, further making it likely that NiiX gave him bad pins.

By the way, NiiX may not be entirely at fault here. I once bought pins off of a trusted seller (on Sythe or RSBot, I forget…) and they gave me the Invalid Payment Window message. He apologized and gave me new ones – Maybe something weird happened to those pins (such as the PBP payment never went through, or something like that).


Either way, it appears NiiX owes The Man 2 pins or $20, whether he scammed intentionally or not.

I owe him nothing and ain't paying 20$ for something I removed a long ago, something 1kb should be said that it is 1kb in size so the buyer can refuse the purchase, instead he says its a big guide on how to make mills in 1 hr..

Sometimes the simplest things can be the most effective.

Doesn't anyone else think this situation is just a little bit humorous? Like if we removed the nicks and that "He's my internet friend he can't lie" & "I just generally dislike him so he has to be lying" and whatnot stuff and got presented with this situation wouldn't it seem a bit.. Silly?

1. Both people give a false impression of their… "Product".
2. The other guy recieves a silly tiny .txt with information he was most likely already aware of, and the other guy gets his payment and either messes up or the payment was just "wrong".

This is irrelevant. NiiX, you never mentioned the guide being worthless in the first place. I think you're just trying to make another excuse. You agreed to the deal, and didn't come through with your part.

If The Man had given you a bad guide, you should have said so in the first place. That way, your case could be that neither of you received what you wanted. Instead you try to prove that your bad pins were real, and now that we all know that they weren't, we know you scammed him.

…If he really didn't do it then he
1) Wouldn't change his story every 15 mins
2) Wouldn't tell us to ban him(this behavior is common when stuff like this happens).
3) Would pay the cash in the first place, he knew very well, from the first time he
got the guide, that he wasn't going to pay up.

And sure, maybe TM wasn't on his bright side.. but still..

Holy crap. I'm on holidays and get called on msn to solve some whiny story.

From what i've read, TM was overpricing his product; Not just that, but he also trusted blindly.

Niix begged for the guide, saying he'd pay up later, then changing to giving pins, pins that later on didn't seem to work.

Finally, selling is not allowed at SRL.

I think today you learnt an important lesson. That should be enough payment for 2 lines of text.

Niix is banned for two weeks; More if the rest of the staff so chooses.
