I had like this awesome idea for an iPod touch/iPhone app. Where I make an interface and use it to text message people using my website php. This would mean you would not be charged for sending text messages, because it uses your internet package. I even was thinking of setting a unique id to recieve texts for free. The 1 that I'm really pissed about is the one that even uses the unique email address one for free receiving. This app has about 15k total downloads as of today at $5.99 a pop…

That's $89,850 made. Then minus the 30% apple makes, and that means I potentially would've made $62,895.

The 5.99 app was released 3 months ago… Life sucks.

You could still try to develop one anyway. It doesn't look as though that sort of application is saturated. Plus, add extra features, lower the price, and you've got a winner.

Make it free to send and a couple dollar purchase / subscription plan if they want to receive.

plus u can make some extra cash with ads… alot of people make a app that fails and just get a bunch of ppl to advertise on it and make money =(

Mine just will have you input any text you want and send lol, i might do a demo version that limits text messages sent with it a day, then unlimited for full.

Also, demo will probably get ads.

I mean 60k in 3 months… Anyone could quit there job for $20,000 a month… or 5k a week…
