Temporary SRL Stats

Hey all,
I'm afraid I have to say that there hasn't been much progress on the SRL Stats system. Our plan is to create a plugin for vBulletin, link stats with userprofiles and have a more extended database (as explained
here by Wizzup). This system may take another while.
Instead, I have whipped up a temporary system for SRL / Scripts / Users to track scripts. It has more features than the old one, but it's still not as good as the planned version (this uses a different database).
A short summary of the features:
- Tracks times/randoms for user/script or combined
- It tracks every script for every user so you can see who is running/has run your script
- It also has the option to manage your players (change location/active).
- Scripters have the option to download the script's info (news/latest version/outdated?)
- Version history (with number of page-hits).
- View averages of randoms
- Stats levels (1 - 100), no one will max out this time :p
- Able to mark a script as outdated (by scripter/admin). If a script hasn't been updated in 3 months, it says "maybe outdated" (updating news counts as updating).
Currently, I have made it so you need either a UserID + Pass OR a ScriptID, so scripters can follow their script even if the user doesn't have an ID. I might disable that though..

A signature size image, not too flashy, not too paint-like, which has room for displaying things like Total Time, Total Users?, Users Running?, Script Rank, Stats Level?, Current Version, etc. I think it's best to have 2 signatures, 1 for scripts and 1 for users. I also think it's best to have the text on the template, so only the value has to be filled in (so Users running: <empty> and empty spaces for the title and such). I'm not sure if that's the best way though, I haven't really looked into it. :p

Erm. Yeah. I.. got.. you?
I mean I can make one with the slots for the appropriate scripts but it wouldnt have any personalized variables. Only the fixed ones like Total Users, etc, etc.
nielsie95
2009-08-15 17:57:11
I know, but I think a signature with 10 personalized vars would become a bit too big. So it would only have static ones, but what I meant is that there could be a lot of things on it and I was just throwing some suggestions. I don't know what users want to see in a signature, just do as you like ;)

For scripts I'd say Name + Version (don't need a prefix?). Total Time, Script Rank, Stats Level are a must too I guess.
Users Running / Total Users
Total Randoms
Randoms per Hour
Last connection
Are all optional, see which you can fit (IMO the users running would be cool).
For the users the same, except scripts running would be a bit overkill?
I was thinking you could also have signature that's related to both the script and the user. This one could have the same ones + User / Script (percentage of time the user has contributed to this script's total time).
I do not really have an idea in my head for the signatures, so feel free to mix in your own ideas.
Also, you don't have to add the prefixes, but I figured it's easier with measuring (you could also use symbols).

It also has the option to manage your players (change location/active).
so (i think im wrong again) we can change if a player is active whilst the script is running? if so, how? also, can we add this to Jr Mem scripts?
nielsie95
2009-08-15 19:27:10
Yes, that's possible. If you have Stats_ManageAccounts somewhere in your script it sends/receives the (updated) player status. You can best place this in your report procedure (for progress reports) or something like that, something that only triggers every ~15 minutes. If all accounts are disabled and you want to be sure you can reset them, you'll have to modify SRL in NextPlayer. I'll do this if SRL is going to use this.. Then, when you have 1+ account sent in, there will show an extra link in your profile.
I'm ok with using it in Junior Members, but remember that there might be bugs in it and these stats will most likely be reset if it's released.
Good work nielsie95 :). Will try this baby out.

If its script testing then you should be able to declare it. It should display as script tests rather than user usage.
Should track versions of scripts too, say 3 version. So if you had 1.0 it would save the stats. Then when 1.1 is released you start fresh. But you can still see 1.0
Theres alot more potental in this.

rogeruk
2009-08-16 03:40:51
No not to discourage. But if you keep the stats from an old version then the stats wont be totally correct because you may have made the script faster and more effective.
They wouldnt have the ability to use old scripts just to see the old stats. True stats of how your script is progressing.

To add to custom variables assign Stats_CustomVars[YourIndexNumber] as an integer then call Stats_SendReport and Stats_ManageAccounts. When you call those two functions the stats are updated on the site, and your variables are reset to 0. So to add to an ore counter for example, I would count the ores mined in 1 load, assign it to the Stats_CustomVars array and then call those two functions.

A simple comment feature on scripts would be cool, a blog-comments sort of thing. We have the forums for commenting anyway, but it still might be useful. Also, a way for users to upload thier own custom stat sigs - you could have a form to fill in on your site which details what pixels to add the text at, and other custom options that the php handles, and then all they need to do is upload the sig.

I'm not sure really sure what you mean? Send in a md5 of the players' passwords? So you have to fill in the password before changing a player's status? I don't think that's necessary ;)

I was thinking the same thing. I liked them because they're thin. Just making it simple with a script and its total time, or a user and its total time.
As for the ranks, who's to decide what ranks should be at what times? I think it might be a good idea to have it be dynamic. Like whoever has the most hours decides the top of the scale and the other ones are distributed at even intervals.

Those randoms don't seem quite right :p
Anyway, I'm sure NxTitle or someone that has a subdomain for his server could easily host the PHP half, that way you won't have to worry about Freehostia being mean to you :).
Also, is this meant to track how long I've autoed by myself without my own scripts? (Meaning just stick it in any old script and it just updates my stats without updating any specific script on there)

Rank is just the place on the timelist. So the one with the most hours is number 1 and the one with the second most hours is number 2, etc.
I shall talk to c0de about his signatures when I see him. Or maybe Wizzup? has the source too?
From: Widget
Those randoms don't seem quite right :p
Anyway, I'm sure NxTitle or someone that has a subdomain for his server could easily host the PHP half, that way you won't have to worry about Freehostia being mean to you :).
Also, is this meant to track how long I've autoed by myself without my own scripts? (Meaning just stick it in any old script and it just updates my stats without updating any specific script on there)
It's not like Freehostia is meant to be the final host ;) The randoms are right :p

Currently, I have made it so you need either a UserID + Pass OR a ScriptID, so scripters can follow their script even if the user doesn't have an ID. I might disable that though..
So yes, if you only fill in your UserID, it only adds time to your account. If you only fill in the ScriptID, it only adds time to the script.

Rank is just the place on the timelist. So the one with the most hours is number 1 and the one with the second most hours is number 2, etc.
They were talking about bronze, iron, mithril, etc. I assumed it was more of a time achievement than that of being first second or third.

You're right, it looks like it's not updating banks/logins when the userID or pass isn't filled in.
You'll have to change the SCAR code:
if (Stats_UserID <> '') and (Stats_Password <> '') then
begin
AddPostVariable(Client, 'uID', Stats_UserID);
AddPostVariable(Client, 'uPass', Stats_Password);
end
else
begin
AddPostVariable(Client, 'uID', '-1');
AddPostVariable(Client, 'uPass', '');
end;
if (Stats_ScriptID <> '') then
begin
AddPostVariable (Client, 'sID', Stats_ScriptID);
for i := Low(Stats_CustomVars) to High(Stats_CustomVars) do
begin
AddPostVariable(Client, 'rndCustom' + IntToStr(i), IntToStr(Stats_CustomVars[i]));
Stats_CustomVars[i] := 0;
end;
end
else
begin
AddPostVariable (Client, 'sID', '-1');
end;
for i := Low(Stats_GlobalVars) to High(Stats_GlobalVars) do
begin
case i of
1: s := IntToStr(SRL_Logs - Stats_GlobalVars[i]);
2: s := IntToStr(Banks - Stats_GlobalVars[i]);
3: s := IntToStr(RandSolved[rand_Death] - Stats_GlobalVars[i]);
else if ((i - 3) < Length(RandSolved) - 1 {for Death}) then
s := IntToStr(RandSolved[i - 3] - Stats_GlobalVars[i]);
end;
AddPostVariable(Client, 'rndGlobal' + IntToStr(i), s);
Stats_GlobalVars[i] := Stats_GlobalVars[i] + StrToInt(s);
end;
I also updated the code in the first post. I haven't tested it, but it should work =D

I've never changed my pass, and it's the exact same info before stats closed down the worked for me…. plus everyone who's 'active' shows <1 minute. You are shown active if anyone attempts to login to your ID via SCAR whether or not it is successful for like 15 minutes.

nielsie95
2010-01-18 13:21:05
Freehostia doesn't like it when a lot of people try to connect to the site, this may result in time outs and server errors. It would help if scripters only let SCAR connect to the stats when it's necessary. SendAccountInfo isn't needed when ManageAccounts is called and a logical place for ManageAccounts would be before switching players. SendReport already makes sure it doesn't commit if the time difference is less than 5 minutes.
Also, the signatures are taking its toll too, it would help if people with personal signatures try to apply a caching system to it (store the picture and only update it every ~15 minutes).
Nevertheless, I'm glad it's being used, so thank you :)

I think this should work (if you have access to the directory):
<?php
$filename = 'signature_cache.png';
if ((!file_exists($filename)) || ((time() - filemtime($filename)) >= (10 * 60 /*10 minutes*/))) {
require('old_signature.php');
}
$png = imagecreatefrompng($filename);
header('Content-Type: image/png');
imagepng($png);
imagedestroy($png);
?>
If your current script is "a.php", rename it to something else and change the require('old_signature.php') accordingly, then name the above script "a.php".
Also, in your old script, you should see something like imagepng($im), change this to imagepng($im, $filename), maybe you should remove the header line too.
This is completely untested, but it should work (fingers crossed).

Sorry for double post but:

Add '

nielsie95

Thanks! :)
I need a bit of help getting it to work though. I added it to hosted domains and it says this:
In order to host srlstats.info you have to set the following DNS:
dns1.freehostia.com 66.40.52.47
dns2.freehostia.com 66.40.66.152
What else do I need to do?
Sex will then change the nameservers of the domain to what you posted.
You do not need to do anything apart from adding it. I'll change the name servers from my DNS management. The TTL is 30 minutes but it usually takes about an hour to propagate. The domain will be working within an hour or so.
If I remember right, Freehostia has folders when you connect to ftp for each subdomain/domain you have, so you are gonna have to copy all the files from scriptmanager.freehostia.com to srlstats.info and change the links (if they are absolute that is) appropiately (i.e replace scriptmanager.freehostia.com with srlstats.info). It is better to use relative links however for things like this.
If you need any more help (which I doubt it since you look like a good web developer), just PM me with the FTP information.

I read something about caching, and this is what i have done for the signatures i made.
[PHP]if ( file_exists( "zz_" . $uid . "_file.txt" ) ) {
$file = fopen( "zz_" . $uid . "_file.txt", "r" );
$ltime = fread( $file, filesize( "zz_" . $uid . "_file.txt" ) );
fclose( $file );
$ctime = microtime();
$ctime = explode( " ", $ctime );
if ( $ctime[1] > $ltime + ( 60 * 15 ) ) {
generate_image();
} else {
header('Content-type: image/png');
$imga = imagecreatefrompng( "zz_" . $uid . "_image.png" );
imagepng( $imga );
imagedestroy( $imga );
}
} else {
$file = fopen( "zz_" . $uid . "_file.txt", "w+" );
$ctime = microtime();
$ctime = explode( " ", $ctime );
fwrite( $file, $ctime[1] );
fclose( $file );
header('Content-type: image/png');
generate_image();
}[/PHP]
It refreshes it if 15 minutes has passed from the last update.
If someone needs it i can explain further more how it works.

There seems to be a problem when the server gets (a relatively small) certain amount of bandwidth exceeded.
This causes anything from stats page just being inaccessible, to it lagging scripts for 30+ seconds.
I know the official SRL stats are gonna come back (hopefully soon) but maybe it would be a good idea in the mean time to move the current data base to like Tempstats.villavu.com or something??
