im thinking about purchasing a whip, i was wondering if anyone knew anything about the stability of the price…
i know you merchers know it all, so if you can extrapolate whats gonna happen to it that would be sweet. ( i know its rising, is it gonna drop anytime soon and am i gonna lose 1m or something)
it went up another 150k since yesterday evening…
i sold mine 2 months ago for 1.5m… fml

it will drop soon was/is high demand cause of new animations but people get bored fast so id expect them to drop back soon enough

I bought mine for 2.3, and it says went up 300k today :D

okay thanks guys, its appreciated. i wont buy it just yet. ill wait for it to drop and then until it either levels or starts going up again, im not paying 2.7m then have it drop 700k lolz.


EDIT: are the rumors about the whip being slow, and not as good true?
if this rumor is true, what is a good weapon of choice? i have 70 att

I knew the whip was going to rise a lot more so I bought it for 2.7 million gp today and it went to 2.9. probably will drop in the next few days. and attack is still the same speed.

it will begin to drop in the middle of next week

Those raises probably are only temporary, but I would still buy a whip though, since it's the best weapon imo to train attack. I think when all other weapons get updated they might be stable for a while, but I guess there might be a little drop after that.

You have less of a chance of getting a whip from an abby demon and big monster drops have been removed from pvp and bounty worlds so they will keep going up. I baught my whip at around 2M and now its 3M :o

Whip price is decreasing. It should fall quite a lot.

If you have a whip sell it. One it drops in price buy it again.

also, the whip is the best wepon in the game to train with(sometimes even strength) since its fast, you get a sheild, and the same speed/ strength as ss or zs

Now I am not trying to hijack this thread but, on a semi related note, can I expect the same thing to happen with the saradomin godsword? Because in nine days it went from 57 mil to 62 mil, and for obvious reasons i am going to assume it was from the update. I just want to rest safe knowing if it will go back down.

You can't train strength with a whip, unless you train all melee stats, right?

Yes you must use controlled attack style. Whip has a +82 str bonus which is worth it.

I wouldnt hold onto the whip. Sell it, once it drops buy it again :)

I used to be a professional abby whip merchant until the f***ing GE.The price of whips will always fluctuate.

They were 10 mil for a while then they were 3 for a long time and they dropped all the way down to 1.1.

So expect somewhere between 1.5mil -2.5mil fluctuation per a year.

does anyone have a clue on how low it will fall… i want to make a purchase without any losses.. or minimal.

I'm going to estimate roughly 2.1 - 2.3 mil at best.

Whips will become more stable.

No, they didn't change how often they are dropped by abyssal demons, only removed them from pvp.

Also, they might stay higher now that they can't be lost in PvP when you are on a +1 world.

SGS will stay high, as it is one of the BEST weapons to train with, other GS might fall, but will more than likely stay where they were.

Who cares.. They are worth shit anyway :p

I say go ahead and buy one.

Even if the whip crashed, you would easily be able to sell it to someone before it lowers 200k.

People can't really know the end price of whips. It's quite possible that they will float between 2-3 million gp until another related update is released.

They were 2.6 mil yesterday. I'd like one myself (just need 70 attack!) - I had thought about it for an investment :)
