Obvious Autoing

Hey guys,

I was thinking about autoing earlier, and then I started to realise something..
Why would you waste your time setting up auto detection when you can pull out easy things..

ALL MACRO'S change the details to lowest, surely it would make loads of sense to just put a check in place for that.

The next thing, all scripts follow similar Camera movement upon logging in, I forgot the exact line but it rotates the camera to face south..

I was just thinking isn't it things like that that would get us caught?
I mean i run on HD all the time..
and then when im cutting yews im miracously on LD, its a bit like eh!?

Just thinking is it about time we start incorporating different things.

Any thoughts?

They can't track us like that. I, and a lot of people I know who play legit keep everything on low anyway, and all rotate the camera north and to the highest angle when they log in.

I'm always playing facing north and max angle. And when I play legit I usually just walk so I leave it LD. And I also walks/do anything like the scripts do. So I won't look like different always. I am doing the same. And I am sure a lots of people using the LD because of slow computer. So I don't think this is major.

EDIT: senrath you ninja

I've always used those settings, even before I heard of cheating. And I auto with those settings 24/7 and don't get banned. Besides, jagex already bans too many legits as it is, they wouldn't want to add more stuff.

Yeh I know that they already ban so many legits..
But I just thought it would surely be an easy way to pick up on autoers..
Maybe its only me who plays like a spazz lol..

I was just thinking though, surely it could be an easy checklist for Jagex to run..
1. Check whether they change to SD
2. Check camera rotate
3. Monitor users activity
4. Watch play time etc and actions
5. Flag user.
6. Monitor future activity.
7. BAN.

sorta thingg.. :\

Yes implementing those checks would be very easy. However sorting through the tons of legit people that play like that would be way more work. If just 1 legit was banned for that, there would be so many people upset, same basic idea as racial profiling. AFAIK, they ban for certain obvious things, with just 1 occurrence, and for the little things, they flag users until it reaches a certain threshold. Just speculating here but, every time a user is flagged for a certain action, it adds more work to their detection system. So they probably look at which actions result in more successful bans, and which lead to more false positives creating unnecessary work for the detection system. Then they probably only keep the actions that flag the most botters and the least legits, for efficiency (efficiency is very important with a user base as big as runescapes). I believe (enough to risk my army of mains on) that angle, camera, detail would not be efficient flags for them to use. You could change these if you really want, however most scripts would need to be re-written a lot. It's good that you think about these sorts of things though, as when it comes to getting caught, being too paranoid isn't a bad thing.
