ok so i think i can benefit from ftp. thing is im not entirly sure how to use it…

ok so ftp is file transfer protocol . and i have fireFTP which is a ftp client plugin for firefox. now can i use ftp (i think i can idk how…) to send files from 1 pc to another? the one in the next room? how would i do that with ftp servers?

also how can i get an ftp server service? can i at all for free? i basically want like a storage directory online for free which i know i can just use mediafire (which works well.) but i need ftp so i can make batch files and get my files via cmd etc. i also need it to transfer small files over 2 of my pcs. yes i can just take my flash drive there…but thats 30 ft away….lol

I love the FileZilla FTP Server.
I'ts also very easy to setup.

But why not using the windows file File and Folder sharing ?
Or if yourusing Linux, try Samba.
