Maybe a cup would suffice? To avoid confusion between SRL Member MM's without any other cups and Junior Member MM's (if there ever are any). I also think it would make more sense to make it a cup and a rank, instead of a colour, as traditionally colours are for "moving up the ranks" sort of thing, this is more of a hobby on the side. If we go with a colour though, the 1st or 2nd one Zeph just posted looks good.

The BM is not available to Jr Members, so having them as MM wouldn't make much sense. But even if they do come to have access to it one day, I think we should make SRL Members a requirement.

It is a rank though, thats why it has a different color and quite possibly a cup.

Ah, I meant two different types of ranks. The first "cup and a rank" as in SRL Member / SRL Middleman with a cup, the "moving up the ranks" as in moving up in power in the forum heirarchy. Member, SRL Member, SSRL, Dev, Mod, Admin sort of thing. Middleman doesnt really fit in anywhere there, its more off to the side. But if only SRL Members can access the blackmarket, I guess its not really an issue…although I recall someone saying it would be open to JM the other day. I just dont think its a rank that deserves to be of the same calibre as the other heirarchal ranks, it's more of a cup imo like donator, aristocrat etc.

I'm just going off of what the announcement in the news module says. It has bounced back and forth. But I think if we do SRL Mem only it will be a huge waste of time because it will be inactive, but thats not to say I like the idea of JR Members using it, that increases the chances of scams by a lot.

Perhaps have it for SRL Members initially. We can always change permissions later if it fails too much, right?

I thought we already decided that this was for SRL Members only for now? As the applications cut down a lot on 'quick $5' scammers.
Another reason is that we must start small. We have no idea what a market will lead to. We don't want another sythe do we?

Yeah, that's pretty much my point.

I propose a rename of Middlemen to Market Moderator/Hlper. Why? Because they will be the people who run it, not just MM some trades.

Besides, distinguishability (sp?) is very important. Just a cup doesn't make clear in 100ms to who you need to go when you are having trouble with the market etc. A nice colour does.

I agree with the rank change, but still not the colour change for reasons explained above. Big deal if it doesnt make it apparant who's a Market Helper in 100ms? We're not autoing the forums here. I'm sure SRL Members are intelligent enough to either read directly under someones name, control+f "Market Helper" or whatever the new rank is called, or read a constantly updated sticky which says who the Helpers are with links to their profile that we could and should make.

Now look how out of place Torrent of Flame looks. Is he a junior member? An SRL Member? A registered member? No one knows. You could deduce hes SRL Member from the fact hes in the market but thats not clear to any junior members unaware of the black market rules.

Yeah, explain why the colour change was needed please, it looks shit and just screws shit up. Its not a heirarchy rank, its a completely different thing. You dont give new colours to aristocrats or donors do you?

I'm gonna have to agree again with The Claw. Whoever went and promoted ToF kinda jumped the gun. You should have waiting till the market was complete.

And the color was set from when I was testing the permissions on my tester and was just left like that because there was no clear final decision.

But if we are to have a color the market should be public if not, then it should be regular color with a cup or something.

I disagree - even governments have been known to admit to mistakes in the past, we should be able to as well

i like it; and after all, it is a rank above. Why? Because it's not just MM, it's actually Market Mod.
