SCAR 3.21 Alpha

Freddy1990

2009-07-11 22:35:53

I've set up my pre-release repository for SCAR, I'll be putting pre-release versions up in there from now on rather than releasing them like I did before. This will allow for a smoother transition between pre-release versions and such as I can easily update it. Also bugs can be identified more accurate, version wise as more versions can be identified by revision now.

The repository is located here: http://freddy1990.com/svn/scarprerelease

Changelog: http://freddy1990.com/svn/scarprerelease/Changelog.txt

Note that I fixed rs_GetUpChars already, so for all 3.20 users, it'd be best to use this current release. It's also a bit more Vista friendly, I've written a new window selector.

The window selector doesn't draw right when targeting on-top windows. Are you creating a new, transparent window and drawing on that?

should I just take the new Scar.exe and save it over Scar 3.20? and then move all the folders, like fonts and everything into the Scar folder to replace the old ones? If that's not what I'm supposed to do please explain.

EDIT: Da 0wner, same here, I hated how slow it'd go, it was very slow and jumpy when it'd select the window, and on XP it was fast and smooth.

I had to do that because I use Windows 7 as development OS now, which has the same problem there as Vista, this was a good motivation to do it properly for a change, I've tried to do this before, but I never really got it done perfectly, always some crap messing it up. So expect the final 3.21 to be way more Vista/7 friendly :)

Woah that's cool, I knew you could change Scar's Title, but I never knew you could do it with the client it has activated. Was there a function to do this in 3.20 or 3.15B? I think that'd be a really cool function so you could change client title's while the script's running.

No, there was not a function like that in previous versions :p
Yeah, I know it's awesome :D I use it for changing the DebugImgWindow when making games (like the game's name is "Freddy0wnzor" then it's better to have "Freddy0wnzor" as title instead of "Debug Image" xD)

Really loving the new Crosshair! :p

But, do you think you could make it possible to let user change the color of it? (Like, the current Red (255?) to Blue (16711680)) Maybe a new section to options, to configure what it looks like (thickness, color)? That would be really nice.

yea… or if your mixster and watching your porn and afraid your mom's going to walk in, and see the bar at the bottom and porn in the name, you can activate the window and change it to Runescape lol :p jk. I hope mixster sees this.

But yea, I'd use it when I auto, like I like to change scar to how many loads I've done and if I'm like fishing, how many spots in the inventory have fish, but sometimes it's too big, so I could change scar to the inventory amount and then the client window to how many fish are in the inventory, split it up.

As it turns out, recursion does work, as Nadeem just pointed out. I was just messing up the code, as I'm more used to Java than SCAR.

Lol.

I was just playing around my self and discovered you could, then i was going to reply but Nadeem already did it :p

Check out from the latest revision, run fixscar.exe (make sure you run it as administrator or it will crash).

Btw, everyone, please post your suggestions or bugs on my forums so I don't miss them…

What does fixscar.exe do? is it for people with the .dll errors?

Yeah, it downloads the missing DLLs.

Also, possibly, could you please add in capablities in SCAR? Or is that just not possible?

e.g:

function IsIn(s: String): Boolean;
begin
Result := s in ['A'..'z'];
end;

:)

You can achieve a similar result by using cases:

program New;

function InStr(s: Char): Boolean;
begin
case s of
'A'..'z': Result := True;
else
Result := False;
end;
end;

begin
WriteLn(BoolToStr(InStr('a')));
WriteLn(BoolToStr(InStr('!')));
end.

Pascal Script (SCAR's Scripting Engine) isn't exactly the most bug-free engine I know, but it is the only decent and open source one for Pascal. It is said to have support for Delphi, Kylix and FPC, but FPC support is still very experimental.

My point: If you want something in the engine, leave a post/mail at their mailing list, and someone may add it.

Hey,
I'm a bit scuppered with what to do here mate.
I'm wanting to get Macroing again, I have downloaded the new Scar.exe, and I believe now that I need to download the new Font's folder etc etc..

However for some silly reason none of my PC's like SVN, meaning I have to download everything manually, now for SRL its not really a problem 100 files ish doesnt take to long.
But 100+ for each Font pack etc etc is just silly..

How can I go about getting the new client without having to use SVN or download manually, can you upload an Installer as you have for previous clients..

Oh here is my SVN error message incase you know what's wrong with it?

Error: OPTIONS of 'http://freddy1990.com/svn/scarprerelease': 200 OK (http://freddy1990.com)

I use 3.21 Alpha now, and I set it to be the default program when I open a .scar file, but when I open a .scar file, it just says

Program New;
begin
end.

It's not a problem for me, really, I just File > Reopen the file I want, but yeah, just thought you should know. :) (Might just be my stupidity, but I wanted to check ;))

Failed when compiling
Line 24: [Error] (182:1): Duplicate identifier 'FriendChars' in script C:\Users\Sap\Desktop\scarprerelease\includes\SRL/SRL/Core/Globals.scar

But with the SCAR 3.21 Beta everything is fine. Just wanted to share that its a bug maybe ;)

SRL isn't compatible with the latest update, I'll fix that in SRL once I get a new account for the dev SVN or whena notehr dev uploads my patches to the repos.

You can apply the patches yourself with TortoiseSVN if you want though…

Already tried, I have no idea what it could be, there is simply nothing blocking/denying it access, I've disabled it all.
I've reinstalled SVN.
I just don't know what is left for me to do lol.

Will you be releasing compiled .exe's or .msi's for us to install it?
That'd be ideal if you could :)

I'm afraid that won't tell me much, however, I've added error reporting to SCAR, so if you get another crash like that, you'll be prompted to send in an error report which will provide me the data I need to track down the bug.

see if at the top of your script you have:

{.Include SRL\SRL.Scar}
{.Include SRL\SRL\Misc\Smart.Scar}

if smart is under srl, like above, then make it like this:

{.Include SRL\SRL\Misc\Smart.Scar}
{.Include SRL\SRL.Scar}

In the latest rev (28 i think?) sometimes when i press play my computer dies. Like i cant even move the mouse its completely dead. Like normally it says the script compiled then starts the script but none of that just a pure freeze.

Lost 1 hour of scripting due to it, quite frustrating. Yet again my fault i didn't save my work.

You need to move your plugins. Go to your SRL folder and copy the stuff in "place inside plugins folder" into SCAR's Plugins folder.

I already did that, it's named DisguiseClient, it doesn't actually change the title of the client, rather the title of the window that holds the client.
