Think For Yourself!

Everyday I wake up continually discusted at the amount of people who seem to lack the ability to think for themselves. So many people copy/mimic others style/what they do, for the sole purpose of seaming "cool".

What ever happened to being "armed with a mind"? Doing things for yourself, instead of doing them to impress someone else?

In my honest opinion, you should live for yourself, to push your own standards, and meet your own goals.

I know that the majority of people are going to post agreeing with me, but most of you are going to be hypocrites, because you and I both know you are not how you are because of yourself. Instead you are doing it to impress some girl, or probably even people on this site.

Either way, lets hear some opinions.

I'll admit to accidentally copying parts of people's personalities, but I still try to be myself :)

Every now and then you find someone who's really similar to you (music, interests, personality, etc.) and you can't help but subconsciously become more like that person though.

I suppose a better way to say it would be that I'll take bits and pieces of people that I like and make it into the blob that is me.

(Also, 4chan isn't helping in this area)

I think just having the courage to fight is good enough. The worst thing is to be a relativist and stay aside.

The moment you start caring about how you look and what people think about you is the same moment that you stop having fun ;)

**** it, live life!

*expects infractions :p*

Well I don't agree with that, (damn it, I am gonna have to quote my apush teacher again) there is a difference between rational conformity and irrational conformity.

Remember the beats and hipsters, they were just really irrational conformists who did everything the opposite of the yuppies.

But, I do feel from where you are getting at, there is something courageous with the phrase, "just live life"

Anyway, if I may add a corollary, "use the brain"
