Hi, using Ubuntu 9.04. Even when I use the sound control panel to mute sound, it still plays. Also, though it is defaulted to my headset, only playing a direct mp3 file from my browser works; all else uses my external speakers. I have even changed the config so it all points to my headset; doesn't work.. :/

Basically all sound problems -> Remove pulseaudio. Look it up on the ubuntu forums. Pulseaudio causes more problems that it solves. If it works fine, no reason to remove it, but as soon as you get problems, just remove it and deal with alsa directly.

Okay, I removed that, now what? :p

Edit: Okay, using asoundconf list and asoundconf set-default-card NAME worked I think, works in other programs, still does not work for YouTube videos ;_;

Apparently when I did this before it failed, but this time I tried, it worked. Epic. :D
Thanks lardy.
