I need help, i seem to over heat constantly and lag alot when i auto on my laptop, what do you guys use, or any tips to help me?'

obviously in most cases pc would be more efficient.

Try running less applications/processes while you auto.

or maybe try disabling some startup applications?

If your problem is overheating (which is common on laptops) try using a cooling fan, you can get one at say Wal Mart for 30 dollars and it will help keep your laptop cool and keep it from lagging as much.

Pc > laptop. most cases Pc Ram > Laptop Ram.

Well what my bro does is he has one of those plastic little box like things that can be used for carrying cd's or the like, put a fan on the floor and that on top and then put the laptop on it, and his over heating pretty much quit all together with all the ventilation.

I don't have a good laptop at all and I've autoed over night many times without any problems, but most of the time I use my desktop as it is 100x better. :p

Im getting a laptop cooling fan, im going to delete some startup applications, and yes, when i auto i have some applications open like 6 tabs of firefox, msn, aim im gonna delete them. You think if i do all those things i mentioned i should be fine with a

2.0ghz 667 mmhz fsb , 1mb l2 cache
up to 732 mb mobile intel graphics
2gb ddr2

also, i have 2 harddrives on this laptop, one of them only has like 1gb left, C, will that slow down performace too?

Yeah you should be fine if you close those other apps, I have about half of everyone you have on my laptop, and it runs perfect if SCAR is the only thing running, so I imagine it will be fine for you.

I use a NetBook, the Acer Aspire One, and it works fine. make sure if you're overheating that the ventilation holes (the little holes on the bottom for air or w/e) are not blocked so as to restrict the cooling of the device. Yes, this netbook is extremely slow but it works fine with SCAR3.20D and SMART.

I have 4gb RAM on my laptop.. Dell XPS M1530.. It's really nice ;) (And Alienware laptops have more than 4gb RAM, don't they? o.o lol

You can usually install laptop RAM yourself.. you can on all the laptops I've seen.

Unless you're talking about Alienware laptops specifically?

Not a super PC but i works great. I use hide window hotkey a lot with S. M. A. R. T.
Also I can play cod ang game like that at the same time.

My laptop has twice the amount of RAM that my PC have, and the RAM is faster too.
The PC has a 3.33GHz single core CPU vs. the laptop's 2.30 GHz Dual core CPU.

I choose my Laptop ;)
Doesn't use my PC anymore tbh.
