I just got my Ipod Touch yesterday and i saw that apple claims that it has a 36 hours of audio till battery is gone. Well ive noticed it goes in 3-4 hours. Yes i do listen to music and browse the internet/MSN with wi-fi on and all those setting and had backlight on fairly high xD, but why does the battery suck so badly….

Now im trying with like 20% backlight, wi-fi off and all those stupid settings that people say eats the battery and with the screen off.

Seems to work… but one thing when i charge it in like 30 minutes it charges like half the battery like… no way? my phone takes like 4-5 hours to charge.

Is the battery measurement mocked up or what?

No, it's fairly accurate. Notice that they say that its 36 hours of AUDIO. Anything that requires the screen will drain the battery much, much faster than just using the audio. That said, it's still not a very good battery.

I think the battery measurements pretty accurate. TBH, its the touch screen that eats the battery. If you charge full, then select a 36 hour playlist. Thats what they did to get max results.

They probably also modded the actual iPod to not use anything at all so no matter what you did wouldn't have done anything ;]

I know aye, like the Nintendo DS has 2 screens fairly bright and it lasts so long.. But i never played it for hours continuously.

Though im still very happy what the Ipod Touch can do its quite cool :) mini computer :).

They'll say anything to get you to buy one. But by 36 hours, i'm pretty sure they mean 36 hours of not using it but it being Power-On. If you look deeper, you will find battery usage times for Audio, Internet, Video, etc.
