By R1ch

This, as far as I know, is a unique script/series of scripts. This thread is to help people who struggle in Maths, via a SCAR script. The only script in the series at the moment is "Adding, Subtracting, Multiplying and Dividing".

To use this script, you need an extra include (LSMaths.scar) which is attached below. Save it in a new folder called "LS" in your includes folder.

To use it:

- Press play
- Wait for the news and for the script to check your version
- Select the questions you would like to do
- Complete the questions
- Post your score!

Features:

- Version checker
- News
- Random questions
- Ability to choose questions
- Easy / hard questions
- Awesome report!

Versions:

V1.0
V1.1
V1.1

V1.3 ~ Current

So, download it, post your score, and tell me what you think about it.

@Admin or Mod : Can this be moved to SRL Members please? I'm hoping it might actually get some attention, due to amount of time I spent on it.

Woo! Someone posted! Mods, keep it for a while then please, to see if it gets more responses now it is up in the list.

Bubix, any ways I could improve it?

Heh, you don't know how disappointing this is for me. All of the support in the Members sections that I was getting when the idea was released, and when the script gets released - this. Nava said he was interested, so I PMed him when I got no response here, and I got no response back…All the time I spent on this project, and I get this response…I'm not flaming, I just feel like expressing myself.

I am assuming that most people here are past the learning stages of these.

Something like this needs to be elaborate covering a wide variety of areas and even then it may or may not be used often.

Any suggestions for a more difficult/grown-up topic then?

I'll check the script to see if that was just coincidence or a bug.

Boreas, I've had a look through the script, and it seems that what happened was just a coincidence.

One suggestion:

Make different "levels", such as the first level is easy, second is medium, third is hard, but make it more complexerish than that, and add a thing that takes how you did on your current level, and make it auto-adjust the level based on those.

Just a suggestion. :P.

As i have said, i didn't even know that you made one of these. If i would've know, i wouldn't of made one, due to the fact that one already exists…

Rich

2009-08-26 12:50:46

Dan, it wasn't the fact that you made one that disappointed me, it was the fact that pretty much no one had replied, and more people had on your in such a smaller period of time.

I would do this if it had advanced stuff. Add some algebra in there, hard problems. Trigonometry is used for scripting, add that maybe?

Rich

2009-08-26 20:36:25

Sure. I'll do that when I have the time, and when I can be bothered.

Simultaneous equations
Quadratic equations
Sin/cos/tan

All that stuff you want?

Richard.

I dont know if its possible or even realistic, but here is a list of stuff I would consider fairly advanced (assuming an average age of 14 or 15 on the forums) (I'm 16)

Trig (sin cos tan)
Quadratics
Solving trig equations (Find the solutions for Sin(x) = -1/2) This might be too hard to do, and doesnt apply to scripting, so probably not. Just listing things I did last year in math class.
Logarithms
Natural Exponents (E)
Series/Sequences.

Any of those. If you need a more detailed list, more specific stuff, I could dig it up.

Rich

2009-08-26 21:55:46

Well, I'm going into the year - I'm assuming year 10 - that you learned that in, and I haven't been taught it yet. Saying that, I'm the best at Maths (and everything else looking at it [not meaning to boast]) in my year, so I'm sure I could come up with something.

Richard.

V1.1 P has been released

This is NOT a major update, but one which makes the script easier to use.

Instead of typing in "y" or "n" to choose what you wanted to do, you can now simply press "Yes" or "No."

The script now pauses between each set of 5 of questions. To carry on, you must press Ctrl.

Also I shortened the code a little bit, and neatened the script up in general.

Download in first post.

Yeah. I learned that in advanced math 10.
