He's active, just applied for members. Helpful around the forums.

What do you think?

If not new comer, maybe Helper Bear?

He's been here for 14 months, not exactly newcomer, and he hasn't made that many helpful posts.

But searching through most of his posts, he seems to be "useful", so maybe Useful Posters cup instead, seemed more suited to me.

There are other people who help equally/more than Coh3n, who don't have useful posters, what makes him more unique?

Good points.. I'm partial to this decision…

I say yes for helpers. I wouldn't really call him the best newcomer.

Promising newcomer. huge difference. But i agree on the part of now really being a new comer.

Yeah he's promising but who, that has a developer personally looking over him, isn't?

doesn't make him less worthy. As long as it is him doing the work.

It is, if you look around I hardly help him.

I did teach him TPAs, I won't deny that. I sat beside him
and taught him.

Can someone add a poll? And I forgot it was promising. Haha.

Wasn't he also your IRL friend?

EDIT:
There is no way to vote no, at all. How are we supposed to post that we don't agree with any cup?

Fine. Added None.

Another question, why add three different cups to the poll? Usually when someone is polled, he is polled for a certain reason.
If he makes lots of useful posts, then links to those posts are provided, and we can vote for useful poster. It he helps a lot, we can vote for helper, etc.

It looks like me that you just want to give this guy some cup, and that's not good. But that's just my opinion. :)

Nava suggested promising newcomer or helpers then Richard suggested useful poster. If he deserves more than one then thats good no?

He deserves one, and there appears to be a grey area in all of the different cups.

So, whats the issue?

The issue is what you just pointed out, he hasn't *really* stood out on any of the areas each cup covers.

*sigh* let's see what others think.

The problem with the way this is polled is there could be for example:

7 yes's for helper bear
4 yes's for useful
5 yes's for promising newcomer
1 for no cups

Even though there may be 10 people who thought he didn't deserve the useful posters cup but just voted yes on helpers bear. See what I'm saying? If you think he deserves one cup but not the other 2, it doesn't show up that he doesn't deserve the other two. There needs to be 3 separate polls. Or a yes for helpers bear, no for helpers bear, yes for useful, no for useful……etc.

But I do agree with what Wizzup? is saying. It's like you just made a list of cups to try to see how many you could give your friend (it's a nice gesture, but shouldn't be done like that). Usually a poll goes like: scripters cup - reasons with links posted. Here it's just like ok, he doesn't deserve any specific reward, but lets just give him one because he deserves a trophy.

Idk..

Either way, I think that there should be separate threads if you are going to nominate him for 3 cups. Or at least the poll needs to be edited so you can say no to specific cups.

Why not make it multi-choice? w/ the no's?

Idk.. Someone else can take this over.. Its obvious people think I did this because he is my friend.. =/

I am partial, I understand that.

Here how I look at it:

If 7 out of 10 think he should get Newcomer then thats a majority.
For 4/10, 1/10, etc most people don't think those cups are deserved so he doesn't get them.

Multiple choice polls weren't designed to handle this kind of situations though, now everyone can vote "No", and "Best Newcomer".

But I trust SSRL not to do that, intentionally at least.
