Some time ago, the message that I was looking for people who were willing to help out in the black market spread around the forums.
I polled the 6 (non SSRL's) who applied then in mod section, and now I'm polling the top 3 here.
Anyways, this is the PM I sent them (small application form):

I think he has the maturity etc, now , I also think footballjds would do a good job. Technically I middle manned for him selling a script, he was complacent and appeared to know how everything worked.

So… I'd vote twice if I was allowed.

Why are we having a black market section created again? Nobody has been able to tell me what benefit(s) it would bring to the forum.

Football always has really annoying immature posts. Comes in says stupid shit then ends with 'kthxbai', its rubish.

None of them, sorry. Here's the reasoning

TorrentOfFlame: Yeah, I know he's my friend, he's a nice guy, on IRC and everything, but he takes thing really badly when they don't go his way. He also seems to insult people for small/unjust reasons. Would you want someone that get angry or insults people frequently handling your money/pixels?

footballjds: Not sure why, but I never seemed to like him, he makes really immature posts are uses XD and :D a lot, something that really annoyed me. I personally don't know him well enough to judge him on how he'd be handling other peoples money/pixels.

99_: He seems rather… temperamental, one minute he'll be acting quite immature (you may see this as humorous and jokey) and the next he'll be making really mature posts etc. Like footballjds, I honestly don't know him well enough to judge.


I know these guys may be friendly, nice and everything, but I honestly think there are better people to do the job than this, who may or may not have applied (I wasn't aware any of this was going on…).

Sorry if no-one agrees with this, just my thoughts.

The best person in SRL members I can think of for the job is Runescapian. I don't know him, so I don't know if he has any experience or would be willing to do it, but he seems to know a lot about RS, has been here a long time, and is very active and trusted.

I am kinda with Richard.

For me, 99_ is a definite no. He made a thread about how he was going to commit suicide, then a thread about he was leaving to create drama, but it ended up he just left for a 5 minute bathroom break.

footballjds and ToF would be okay I guess, idk. Probably leaning more towards ToF than football, but I'm not going to vote yet because I'm not sure.

Runescapian didn't send me a PM. Shall I send him a PM asking if he got interest?

1. It will create more activity in the forums.

2. Some people already want to buy and sell gold/accounts, but go to other forums to do so (reducing activity).

3. Just another reason to work hard bettering the SRL community to become an SRL member (to gain access to the black market).

4. Why not? I think that it would be a MUCH more scam free environment than somewhere like Sythe. I think that it would be fun to be part of a black market forum where 98% of the people aren't scammers (like they are on all other black market forums).

99_ isn't mentally stable, foodballdjs I don't like, just feels like he wouldn't have any obstacles grabbing someone's money in exchange with getting banned from SRL, and Torrent of Flame is teh shit, I vote for him…

I don't really know how you can infer that making a black market will increase activity on the forums without having implemented one before on SRL. If people have had success using other black markets, why would they come here, learn to script, and apply for membership just to use a black market?

We also let scammers and other banned users come back into the community with no second thoughts (Sandstorm and Iroki come to mind, though it's been said they will never be SRL Members), so it's odd how you claim this will be scam-free. Every other popular black market has also experienced scamming, even if people have been assumed to be trusted. It's just something you can't eliminate entirely.

1. I for one have not had success on other forums using their black markets (sythe). I have honestly lost OVER 40M GP, only profiting a total of $15 (I made some stupid mistakes, but still).

2. I did not say that it would be scam free, I said much more scam free. If you were selling GP method, would you feel better selling it to the SRL members+ here, or random noobs on sythe?

3. If some of the SRL members scam (which I'm sure we will have a few cases of scams; nothing like sythe where over 70% of all trades are), then we know what kind of people they are and will know that we do not even want them on these forums (and it may weed out some bad choices for SSRL!).

4. Why am I talking in lists?


Anyways, I do not see why we shouldn't have one at all method. Do you see any serious problems arising from it?

Black Market is good in my opinion because you can find out that people you trust have good accounts/gold or services…

How are we going to successfully keep a black market running? I personally don't know of any way to even remotely transfer within a decent amount of time. BH you could do it in a decent time frame…but that is now gone…

Junk trading for cash, people can always buy and sell accounts without needing to transfer, new methods may be found…etc.

You may be wondering though, how is a runescape autoing community going to be able to create enough junk to make large trades…? ;)
