Ok guys. I came up with the idea ages ago, and only just decided to put it into action. Before I complete it, could you guys tell me what you thing about it so far please, and whether you support the idea?

Thanks,
Richard

hahaha awsome running it right now!
Maybe add a timer, too see how fast you can do it. Or give 10 seconds to solve problem, that turn it to a fun game/best of all ITS EDUCATIONAL
lol :)
I stopped at 9 right 0 wrong :) lol

Thanks. I know the question may seem a little bit easy, but when I've finished it, it's going to have options to do which questions. Also, it is going to be a few thousand lines, and have some much harder questions in there.

Nice, there is a tiny bug though:
  if ReadLn(' 25. What is 60 / 5 / 4') = '3' then
begin
Inc(C);
Answer(A, '');
end else
begin
Inc(W);
Answer(B, '23'); // WRONG!
Wait(2500);
end;

;)

Hehe. Cheers for pointing that out. I've played around with it a bit more, and here's what it's like now. I added a report, and the option to do which "sections" you want.

I was thinking of adding a timer, but then didn't do it for some reason. I'll look at adding it later on. Also, how would I set a time for the questions?

Nice. I found 2 bugs though

1) After the 'harder' simple problems (after 25), it looped back to the 'harder' subtraction problems. Then at number 30 (it said on the Form: 15. y - x, y and x were numbers), I forget what the numbers were, but I'm 90% sure I put 14 and it told me I was wrong and the correct answer was 14 >_< Might have made a typo though.

Good idea :)

EDIT: On new one…Option to skip the lesson before the problems? :)
EDIT: Oh that's the first variable thing :p

After it got through the lesson…

You must have made a typo Runescapian. I just had a look at Q15, and the answer is 14.

I have 29 out of 30 I typo'd btw, you have a duplicate round somewhere.

Rich

2009-06-18 00:37:23

Thanks Herman. I'll have a look at that now.

EDIT: New one without duplicate below.

Thanks Herman!

EDIT2: Out of 30? There's only 25 questions…

I want to look at this.

It'd be cool for teaching purposes.

You could use arrays or something to shorten this.

Edit: Oh, and Readln makes it modal so the script is frozen until something is done.

Nice but kinda to easy :).

I'll add arrays later on. I'm getting ready for school at the moment. I tried adding a set time for the question, but it froze like you said. I didn't know if there was a way to bypass this.

Thanks, and yeah, I know it's a bit easy for me to make, but I wanted to keep people out, and that's what this script will (hopefully) do when it is completed and released to the public.

Thanks for the interest guys,
Richard

Yes you can use your own form and just not make it modal and use a TTimer. You could also integrate it into one form and have next, back, etc. Buttons.

cool, but after division questions it jumped back to subtraction :S
you should make a lil randomness on the numbers :)

edit: btw, why on members? :D

Its pretty neat, I like it!

I think a form with a countdown timer would be pretty sweet! Then you could score on correctness & speed (similar to ipods' music quiz game)

no, i mean the questions are to easy, and i reakon a timer for the whole script that would collect the time for finishing the quiz then it would put it on a website as high scores. Would be nice but i guess people would abuse the code for it and cheat.

I like it though, good job :).

Lol I made the same thing in C# as for a school project ;) fun

Making it increase in difficulty would be really nice.

Some algebra 1-3 would be a welcome addition to bend our minds a bit :)

Ok then, I'll have a look at integrating this after I have completed the questions.

I'll have a look at why it's jumping back. And I'll add randomness later on if I have time. I placed it in Members just to see whether you guys think I should carry on, instead of new members saying "w3 w4n7 m04r!", and so far, looking at the comments, I will complete this project.

Like I said, the questions, when the script is finished, near the end will be harder. Of course, you can always skip a section.

Adding algebra later on in the script.

Thanks for all the support guys!

You are comparing strings. Try comparing extendeds/floats instead ;).
